Totally. With everything else out of the way, Donaire can now make some more of us happy by taking on Mares and Rigo.

So in one year, Donaire moved up to a new weight class, unified belts, beat the #1 guy and became The Ring champion as well.
Nishioka: 36 years old, came off of 12 rounds with past it/shot Rafael Marquez.

Mathebula: Ranked #7 by The Ring. Despite this, I actually consider him Donaire's best win this year. The rest suck.

Vazquez: Just got stopped by Arce[don't even mention the cheap little tune-up against the journeyman].

Arce: Looked highly vulnerable against that kid Rojas. Retirement was inevitable.

Donaire is definitely the most unfairly hated on fighter on this site. The man walks into a new division and in one year wins two belts and beats the #1 ranked fighter, and gets heavily criticized. Unbelievable.

These same people want to say the FOTY is Robert Guerrero or Danny Garcia.

lol, i guarantee u both would have jumped up to 122 to fight donaire much earlier. at any rate, im not dissing donaire, he did good this year. i just dont think those fighters do anything special to his resume. nishioka is a career defining win. the others just pad the really good year he had.

Yeap he even said it himself no more bs about unknown shyt talk he wants both whoever first. I say Rigo is more of a possibility since Mares is with GBP after hes hand heals, i see a great 2013 if he's not bsing ofc

You know the politics behind the mares fight, can't fault donaire for the golden boy/top rank feud, plus imo mares is an easy style matchup for donaire but that's beside the point.

Anyways, you factor in that donaire fought these four guys in one year and it's a great year. In fact he should be fighter of the year if not for Marquez. So really there isn't a single fighter in the sport who's had a better year. That says something.

                    Donaire's lineup for 2013: 4 fights.

                    Rico Ramos[Ranked top 10]
                    Vic Darchinyan II[[top 10 fighter]

                    Move up to FW:
                    JuanMa Lopez
                    Caballero/Dib/Gonzalez

2013 FOTY, will fight top opposition[not the best opposition, but top nonetheless]. Other fighters will be fighting 1-3 times a year while Donaire is busting his ass fighting these hardcore top 10 fighters at 30 years old. Hate all you want f*ggots, Donaire is coming for your favorite fighters![not really].
