Do you think a prime Margarito would have really beaten Floyd?

Floyd would of had to produce one of the finest displays of defensive boxing ever seen to win.

Cotto was destroying Margarito in the first 5 rounds, and he's not half the boxer Floyd is, doesn't have anywhere near the defense or stamina (at the time)

Doesn't have half the speed, or reach (which would be very important for this fight)

Floyd would have had MORE than a chance of dominating this fight in one-sided fashion... He just didn't know it

I think a prime Floyd shuts out a prime Marg but remember this, Floyd turned down a career high payday of $8 million(ish) to face Marg and considering how money obsessed Floyd is, this says a lot.

He went on to fight Baldomir for the WW lineal title but we all know flat footed Baldomir presented zero risk to Floyd who boxed rings around him.

Real Talk... Cotto was completely outboxing Marg until he gassed.

Imagine what Floyd would have done.

He turned down 8 million to fight for 8 million + a big share of the ppvs against Baldo.

Would have had a great chance

                Hatton x10 minus the footwork.

He does this on the Regular, so what your point.

No. Floyd soundly outboxes and potshots him to an easy UD.

I honestly believe that. Margarito in his prime had that 1 quality missing from most of Floyd's opponents other than his physical attributes. Margarito had amazing stamina. Sure Floyd would look good early, but while other fighters slow down, Margarito picks up the pace, he'd have worn Floyd down, I'm sure of it. Which is why the fight didn't happen.
