One hit wonder Trout beating practically DONE Cotto doesnt do much for me.. kirkland can be hit at will, Lara would make for a nice tactical fight for six rounds until he gasses and gets frustrated.
I agree, Canelo looks to be the best challenge at 154, although his resume isn't all that great the skills and potential are there. And stylistically, he poses a pretty big threat to Floyd.

Many may disagree, but Trout's victory over Cotto isn't that much better than Canelo's over Mosley.

he has every right to be impressed by canelos talent and we have every right to be weary about his oppostion and the way golden boy is babying him. Canelo is one of the biggest question marks in the sport.

Strongly disagree. Cotto had the great misfortune of facing the best P4P fighter in the world, and another guy who had him physically outmatched, but also had the ring IQ to match. Cotto managed to take a good 4 rounds from Trout at least. Trout didn't pull away and strongly outmatch him until the 8th or 9th round.

Anyway point being Mosley looks C level, Matt Hatton tier. Don't think Cotto has fallen far enough to struggle with a guy like Sergio Mora.

Trout had all the advantages to beat Cotto to a pulp better than Marg did, ie, younger, bigger, longer reach, fully at home in the division, yet he fought in survival mode throughout the fight. Never seen a guy so scared of Cotto's left hook. Canelo would definitely beat Cotto and Trout. He's smarter and hungrier.

This is a case of overestimating Floyd at this stage of his career and underestimating Canelo.

if im in floyds camp im telling him to stay off the damn ropes in this fight. This fight is very similar to martinez-chavez jr if floyds legs can still go a good 12 rounds hes got this fight easy if not then it gets interesting.

What makes you say survival mode? Trout kept Cotto right at the end of his fist all night and even early in the fight at times was scoring and countering Cotto in close range and had a perfect strategy of clinching whenever Cotto got close to negate Cotto's body punching. Physical gifts or not Trout is a boxer, his style is to outpoint you. Margarito brings the fight to you, so expect to be hurt and have your defense tested.

Well, I said it's not that much better, didn't say it was better or at the same level. IDK, Cotto did look pretty shot against Trout, maybe not Mosley shot but pretty past his best days.

Not a complete mismatch but I think Floyd wins a comfortable decision for the most part...Canelo may have some moments but I think he's too flat-footed and isn't good enough to totally impose his size and will on Floyd.
