The concept of the best fighters fighting the best fighters and the example you give(srl, duran, hagler, hearns) is something that seems to be completely lost on Mayweather fans or in the more extreme cases of idiocy, they even attempt to tear down these guys achievements next to floyds. Sad times.
Are you saying that Manny has fought all the best fighters while Floyd hasn't?

if you don't want to see it fine. I agree to an extent about momentum. Unfortunately, thats the age we are in. Duran quit against SRL, it didn't make duran/hearns or duran/hagler any less, etc. etc. A loss to a great fighter historically doesn't diminish another great fighter.

In this day and age though, maybe so.

Sugar Ray Leonard took vacations too.

Pacquiao fought Cotto because he was an easy match up at the time. If Cotto doesn't get demolished by Margarito and struggle against Clottey there's no way in hell that Manny fights him. It's what Pacquiao has been doing lately, with the exception of Bradlley he fights guys when they seem to be most vulnerable.

If they held Manny up to the same mirror, he'd fail terribly. Clottey? Margarito? Mosley? Losses to Bradley and Marquez? Basura.

i agree it doesnt diminish a fighter. but what i am saying is you know what will happen if they do fight. floyd cant win. if floyd beats him they will just say he waited till somebody else beat him before he would fight him, he didnt fight him when he was at his best etc etc.

its just typical of certain top boxers in this day and age tho, bickering like a pair of schoolgirls and it has cost them both a career defining fight and a ton of wonga.

im not arsed, it was still a pick em fight. pac had just sparked hatton and cotto was the natural 147 fighter and the wbo champ at the time. plenty of people were picking cotto to win that fight.

This is what baffles me. The only differences between Manny and Floyd is that Manny fights more, while Floyd fights guys in a better state. If Floyd had did what Manny has done since '08 that amount of criticism he'd be recieving would be through the roof.
