It's one of the greatest... But close rivalries are usually that way...

      Louis vs Schmeling
      Bowe vs Holyfield

just a couple greats.... it'd be hard to say what rivalry should be concidered the greatest.

you need to look up the definition of rival/rivalry.

nowhere does it say anything about catch weights, monies, or cotto.

This fight probably just was the Fight of the Year for 2012. The second fight was a runner up. 3 was very good. History won't change some business elements, but the competition was insanely good. You are letting a personal animus cloud logic.

The argument you're making is increasingly invalid. What happened in the ring trumps all.

And what happens in the ring is the history people will remember first.
Basilio!!! Just not that often he is mentioned other thasn his recent death.

Anyway for me the best rivalry actually belongs to JMM younger bro and Israel Vazquez. Those were awesome fights right there. Barrera/Morales a close 2nd.

well its obviously a classic rivalry. 4 quality fights that could have gone either way. anybody that says it isnt a classic rivalry clearly has to be blind or have an agenda.

I meant to vote no. Its one of them though, certainly one of the best of my lifetime. Marquez brother was in a pretty good one of his own with Israel Vazquez.

Ali-Frazier is still the greatest rivalry in boxing history in my book.

If Holyfield has a heart attack after Bowe 1, #2 and 3 dont happen

Are you seriously attempting to alter history?
