in what universe would juan manuel marquez quit? especially against pacquiao, his biggest rival.

manny might have been controling the fight and he might have been breaking marquez down from a physical standpoint, but mentally JMM wasnt bout to go nowhere. pacquiao would have to do to marquez what marquez did to him in order to knock him out, marquez would never quit.

Good to know that Manny is feeling fine, but he should retire now or focus again a 100% on boxing if he wants a rematch.

There's not enough time to divide it between boxing and politics, and also who knows if he's going to be the same after that shot. Those kind of punches have the capacity of hurting a boxer for the rest of his life.

Roach & Pac need to assess the damage and look to changing their strategy. There is only so many times that a boxer can win with the same aggressive style like Pac's. At some point in time another opponent will catch onto it and ultimately catch you, just like JMM. It took 4 fights to do it but, he did it.
Roach & Pac need a change to compensate loss of speed, movement and age.
One good example of this is Michael Jordan. He lost his speed, some of his explosiveness and some of the "air" so he changed his style of play to adapt. Yes, basketball may not be as physical as boxing but you get my drift.
Another good example is Mayweather against Mosely. Mosely dropped him so Mayweather changed his tactic to adapt with what's going on around him. And he won that fight because of it.
Roach & Pac needs to go back to the drawing board and assess their mistakes from their last two fights. If they don't change, expect more losses.
              IMO

Pac should change his trainer to learn some defense.

Good ***** from Manny. The problem is, him coming back will never look like a good thing. He's only getting older and we will probably never see the old Manny again. The last true attempt to that was against Marquez and well, he got iced quick after leaving himself open. He would probably return as a gun shy, possibly chinny fighter. It would be sad to see that of Manny considering how we remember his old style. Perhaps he gets 1 more fight in to go out with a win and retire. He's done more than enough for this sport and doesn't deserve to go out the way he did Saturday night. Just my 2 cents.

Thanks TS maybe Pacquiao had the wrong choice of words when he said Marquez would have quit, maybe he meant he was close to finishing him which it seemed like he was. He made some good points and he's classy like usual.
