    How will Boxing React?

Two things can happen after last night, either boxing will be rejuvenated or if there is an investigation into Marquez and his supposed PED use, will boxing go back into the dark days of the early millenium?

My two pence on the Pacquiao/Marquez fight is simple, Marquez in 3 previous fights, younger, at lower weight divisions never had the power to hurt Manny, apart from on two isolated incidences. Even then, Manny was just slightly wobbled. Pacquiao has since fought bigger, harder hitting opponents in Cotto, Clottey and Margarito and not even been wobbled. His chin has always been exceptional. Now we are meant to believe Marquez, at nearly 40 years old, has gained one punch KO over an opponent he barely dented in 36 previous rounds.

Did you see the arms and shoulders on Marquez? He looked huge. Not only that, Marquez was getting beat up in the last two rounds, then he found a perfectly timed shot, which under normal circumstances would have led to Manny being KD, understandable, but knocked into the middle of next year?? Margarito and Cotto managed to land some big shots on Manny and couldn't do it. There hasn't been any suggestion in previous fights that the Phillipino was losing his punch resistance....then this.

I hope for boxing's sake that Marquez is clean but Freddie and co should push for an investigation into the fight, get Marquez tested ASAP (where was the pre-fight testing?). All the respect Marquez gained after fight 3 has faded for me, he is working with a man who is a known PED peddler and I've been ****ing on about this for a while now. I hope Manny continues to fight, he looked as good as he has done in years and was battering Marquez with pin point accuracy.

Not to add that Marquez, who is usually in good shape has not looked this ripped...ever, and at 39 all of a sudden has the best physique I've seen at 147 in a while.

Or how about we flip the coin and say Manny was juicing and now he is off the gear & nothing without it!

Yup. The 1st KD is what raised my su****ion more than the KO. We've seen Manny take similar hits from Clottey, Cotto and Margarito. Then there's the previous fights where JMM didn't close to hitting Pac that hard. Has JMM outboxed Pac before? Yes. I find it hard to believe an aging fighter that teams up with a known dealer can all of a sudden have that much power when he never showed a hint of it the previous fights.

BTW: Bonds started hitting an incredible amount of HRs after 35. JMM is 39.

        Let's not fool ourselves...

only reason pacquiao got knocked out was because he walked into that punch and never saw it coming, if you look at the their previous fights, pacquiao could always take marquezs punch coz he was also expecting it, pacquiao would take one before he unleashes his own barrage, he just got caught off guard since it was the final 3 seconds of the round and pacquiao got overconfident, he's the kinda guy that loves to put the last punch in

margarito and cotto didn't land a single punch on Manny that he didn't see coming. watch the clip again of the KO. Marquez had his feet planted and generated all of his power into that shot. it was beautiful. it KO'd him because he didn't see it coming. those are always the easiest ways to get knocked the **** out, ask Ricky Hat......... no, ask Manny Pacquiao.

But Marquez has hit Manny with his feet planted several times before and Pac has just blinked it away. You can't really ignore the fact that a known PED peddler is working with Marquez now. All of a sudden Marquez has the power to KO Manny who w#has taken punches from the likes of Barrera, Morales, Cotto, Margarito et al. I'm saying it's su****ious, whether you like it or not. I sincerely hope I'm wrong.
