Nothing changes
Mayweather vs Marquez 2

just say no! *****s! it would be a repeat 12-0, Marquez is smaller p4p would be more competitive prime for prime/ equal size aka both natural welters either way Mayweather is the superior counterpuncher and has all the size advantages plus he makes marquez be the aggressor.
Its a very intriguing match all over again.Comment

It's an intriguing matchup because Marquez's stock just went up, but nothing about him looks different enough to suggest the fight will go any differently.
Marquez is smart, but Floyd is the smartest fighter of this generation. I'm not knocking it as a fight that shouldn't be booked, but nothing has changed enough to expect a new outcome.Comment

Floyd was coming back from a layoff last time, so that's not a change.

If Juan can get comfortable and find a rhythm, then there is no one better than Marquez to figure out how to thread punches through that defensive shell of Floyd's.Comment

This time Floyd did jail time and was supposedly malnourished and dehydrated. Also, Marquez looked much better in this outing than against Floyd. His form, his physique, all looked superior. He's really grown into his weight. The style matchup suggests Floyd would try to finesse Juan again, but if Juan can catch Floyd with a similar punch he hit Pac with in the third round, it would change things. Furthermore, Floyd did get hit in their fight, Marquez just didn't have the ability to hurt him. Now I have to say he probably does.

Also, Marquez has looked much better in every outing he has had against Pac then he looked against Floyd. That's because Floyd dominated him and Pac didn't. You always look better in those fights you do well in then those in which you don't.
Marquez caught Floyd, yes, but he never caught him like he caught Manny and he's not likely to because Floyd doesn't fight like Manny.
I'm also not thinking he all of a sudden has more ability to hurt Floyd just because of this KO or even the knockdown shot. This was more about timing and the openings Manny gave him, not strength.
The fight doesn't look different to me just because Marquez got a career defining KO victory.Comment

I understand what you're suggesting but for all of Floyds antics outside the ring an idiot inside the ring; he is not. Mayweather would not lunge that close into intermediate range like Pacquiao did against Marquez in the KO animation, even when he jabs he laterally travels backward.
I'm not really buying the 'malnourished' line from Camp Floyd, so that counts as nothing to me. Sounds like the whining of a guy who went from privileged to prison in my book.

four things.
Weight is a very important issue. Downplay it all you like but JMM was fat and outsized in their match. This would be evened up in that respect. Even though Floyd would still be bigger.
If you haven't seen the change in physique compared to the Floyd fight then I don't know what to say. Of course an increase of strength and speed is a factor in whether he could hurt Floyd...
Floyd still served Jail time. Tyson did the same thing (well, prison) and came back worse after. Who knows how Floyd will be when we finally see him in the ring again?
The dynamic would be different. Marquez would be trying to (and fully capable of) knocking Floyd's head off, so that would bring out the best in Floyd as well. Floyd would in turn try to KO Marquez... To make a statement he was better than everyone all along, and to combat the tenacity of a hulk Marquez in full beast mode. It would be a much more exciting fight than the first one, because the stakes would be higher.Comment

Floyd had way better legs back then, I actually think that was his last fight as a prime fighter. He has lost a step and goes to the ropes more often now so that would give JMM more opportunities. On the other hand Floyd is making these fighters take random blood tests so that might throw a wrench on JMM new found 1 punch power.
I wouldn't mind the fight but it most likely won't happen.Comment

Floyd speed is gone legs are gone very hitable size will no longer be a difrence marquez is strong and his speed is ok floyd is no longer in his prime the only reason he beat jmm in 09 was cuz jmm was fighting above 140 for the first time he is a natural welterweight nowComment
