woah holy crap... I honestly didn't predict a KO from Marquez... from the fights we've seen Marquez has landed some extremely gnarly shots against Pacquiao and he hardly ever buckled. What do you guys think was it the shot or the increase in Marquez's strength this time around?

Nah, I thought Paul Williams was actually DEAD, because you could see his eyes up in his head, the Hatton one I knew he was ok even though he was twitching, this one is scary because its Pac but I kinda knew he would be fine.

It's relatively rare, but I've seen too many guys literally get put to sleep to have worried. It's just shocking to see a fight end that way, like someone turned the lights out. I had no fear for Manny. I knew he was in dreamland, not the hereafter. Ring deaths almost always involve prolonged punishment. That's what scares me, when the ref doesn't step in soon enough to stop the carnage. I've never heard of a fighter dying from a single blow.

Not that it is any of your business yes. I moved out when I was 19 and lived on my own for 3 years. I got my Law degree but the last two years have taken a lot out of me ( My Grandma was terminally ill) so I am taking some time to gather my thoughts before I apply for a post graduate course.

TLDR don't be a judgmental prick.

It was the shot. Marquez threw that punch to go through Pacquiao instead of at Pacquiao. Also on the knockdown in the third he got full extension on that shot and connected his body firmly on the ground with it, add to that he hit him in a perfect spot Manny would have had to been superman not to go down.

On another note Marquez had landed both punches perviously on Manny many times before but this time he got full formed extension on them. He had been dropping southpaw sparring partners with those shots in some of the training footage i saw.

I honestly had no clue what happened. The punch was so fast. I was scared that he had gotten hit wierd and suffered a spinal cord injury or something. Pac has an iron chin and seeing him drop like a sack of potatoes was disturbing. I thought he might be paralyzed or something.

Glad to see he is OK.

Could be a number of things. It could just be that the blow landed perfectly. Marquez may have landed several, similar shots like that on Pacquiao over the years and none had the necessary leverage. Who knows? Too many variables.

Ali knocked Liston out in their second fight with the infamous "phantom punch." When viewed in slow motion, the blow seems to barely have anything on it. There are many people who, to this day, swear Sonny took a dive. Liston was a tough man, yet he was felled by a retreating Ali who was never known as a one-punch KO artist.

                      Not really.

Wladimir tricked me too many times. Against Sanders when I was just a little kid I thought Wladimir died.
This was back when I was a Klittard (one of the original 'Klit G's of KlitLand back in early 2000's)

I was crying and kept screaming WLAD DIED WLAD DIED
Vitali's face made it seem that way too, but it turn out Wlad just have this funny expression on his face.

Than Brewster after that final KO, Wlad just collapsed on to the ring and was drooling, I was scared shtyless again but he was ok after a while.
