This fight turned out the way most objective and knowledgeable fans predicted. Gesta is neither active nor skilled enough to deal with Vazquez. He spends more time posing than throwing punches. Even when he gets tagged cleanly, his first instinct is to clown around pointlessly, then resume posing and feinting.

Gesta did what Gesta does, wait, and Vazquez obliged him. A counter puncher needs a big punch, an equalizer. Gesta doesn't have it. Vazquez boxed, lead, and scored while Gesta waited. Gesta said he was improved, but he was the same. It's frustrating watching him pose when he should be attacking. You can't win if you don't let your hands go.

I don't think any of Gesta's defenses got exposed, but perhaps Vazquez showed how to completely neutralize Gesta's offense.
