Have you been reading the papers or only what you read on the net? They have complained more than once about Sturm pricing himself out. What does Hopkins have to do with Sturm coming off an injury and deciding to take a fight in his home country rather than come to Taylor's hometown to fight him after what everyone said was a serious elbow injury? Whether or not Taylor beats him is not the point, the point is that Sturm made the correct career choice. And he said if Sturm wont take the offer they will go with Soliman, who Wright just beat...WTF? -
hmm
I read everywhere, bud, thanks for the look out. If he's "whining" I'd sure like to see it. There's a difference. Hopkins has a lot to do with dislike of Taylor, obviously. Do I really have to explain that? Obviously that's not the case in every situation though. Coming off an injury is no biggie so long as Sturm is 100% at fight time. He should recover after all.Have you been reading the papers or only what you read on the net? They have complained more than once about Sturm pricing himself out. Sturm is missing his shot. It's not a smart career choice at all imo. Nothing wrong with Taylor fighting Soliman though, it's obvious they want to destroy him and say "Hey look what Taylor did to Soliman that Winky couldn't do" and thereby make the fight bigger.Comment

Sturm is a bigger star in his country than Taylor is in America. Nobody knows who Taylor is, just ask casual boxing fans. Taylor is a tough fight for Sturm, and not a fight Sturm will likely win. Why take it an already tough fight with the odds stacked against you? Why should he show Winky up? Just fight Winky. Winky is not a KO artist, he cant knockout a fly. Sturm knocks out more people than Winky.Originally posted by Super_LightweightI read everywhere, bud, thanks for the look out. If he's "whining" I'd sure like to see it. There's a difference. Sturm should take his shot, period. It's for the undisputed title. Everything isn't about hometown this and money that. The reason for not fighting Wright right off the bat is pretty simple. The fight can be made bigger with an interim fight, duh, and Taylor just had two mentally (if not physically) draining fights. Soliman with his workrate should provide an entertaining fight anyway.Comment

Bingo. Sturm has no excuse for not accepting this fight. If he doesn't take it now, he better not be asking for another shot later. And Taylor needs another fight before he and Winky throw down in my opinion. Helps sell the fight more.Originally posted by Super_LightweightSturm should take his shot, period. Taylor would kill Soliman. Taylor is too big and too strong, it would not be the same fight as Winky in any fashion. Sturm's biggest weapon is his jab, if his elbow is not 100%, he is basically screwed against a guy that is more than likely the biggest puncher and possibly the best fighter in his division. If Sturm wants an easier fight coming off an injury, that is his call. Just like it's Taylor's call to take an easy fight before facing Wright.Originally posted by Super_LightweightSturm should take his shot, period. It's for the undisputed title. Do you forget that Taylor turned down an eliminator against Eastman for the right to fight Hopkins? Instead Eastman got the shotr and Taylor got the next shot, only because Hopkins wanted to fight him. It was smart on Taylor's part not to fight Bernard at that time or take a chance against a power-puncher like Eastman, just like it's a smart move by Sturm to not come back and jump into a fight with Taylor.Originally posted by DiegoFuegoBingo. I agree. Everyone is baggin on Taylor that he WILL face an easy fight in Arkansas before he fights Winky. Well Sturm is as legit as can be. If Sturm doesn't want it, then he's only damagin his carreer. Here's the big opportunity to prove himself. Now it'll take 2 years again just to get a shot.Originally posted by DiegoFuegoBingo. Remember that Sturm's fight in Germany is for the WBA middleweight title. It's the regular title, as Taylor is considered the super champion, but Sturm will be a champion after that fight. And he could still have a big money bout with someone moving up from 154, or even with Wright fighting him for his belt, if the Taylor fight does not come through. Sturm has options, just like Winky and Taylor.Originally posted by Manny_PI agree. Everyone is baggin on Taylor that he WILL face an easy fight in Arkansas before he fights Winky.
