if HBO can rob a 40 year old man who has been champ for 10 years out of his title, dont think they will hesitate at all robbing a young guy from germany they have doe it before
I think you have a valid point. I remember how biased the referee was in the Lacy Vs. Reid fight. And if its a close fight theres no way Sturm would get the nod. With him recovering from an injury he can't be at his best. In time Sturm will be ready, and fight Taylor.

I don't think you get it. This is the undisputed championship of the world. He could take it for free if he has to. He may never get another shot like this. Plus 750 thousand and exposure on HBO is nothing to scoff at. I don't think it's real cowardice, though I have to say it does look that way, I just think it's a wrong-headed business decision.

Are you serious? So what do you expect him (Taylor) to do? Go to Germany to fight him? Hell, they're both more likely to get a fair shake anywhere else. If Sturm wants to be a real contender, he has to go to the champion. That's what the tough guys do. Or he needs to offer Taylor so much money that he can't be turned down. That's what you do if you think you're worse.

Man, the guy still cures an injury. What makes you think that he could come from an injury, not haveing fought for at least 9 months and beating a world champion? He will get another chance (being mandatory of two Taylors belts if he wins his next bout) and take it.

Taylors camp knew all about the situation. They knew that he most likely wouldn't take the offer. This is a pretty weak attempt.

Sturm should be WC (actually he still is in my eyes. He never lost that title to DLH) again one day but it's just not the right time now.

Taylor is far from being a perfect fighter. He still has a lot of flaws and really isn't basicly sound. He got hit by right hand leads repeatidly against Hopkins. Of course he has a lot of talent and natural ability. But he's not a thinking fighter, he has problems adjusting his gameplan in the ring once he's confronted with trouble.

I believe that Sturm has a little edge in handspeed and can outbox Taylor for most of the rounds. I don't see Taylor defending Sturm's jab and the occasional right. Sturm has developed a very good uppercut as well.

Now I might have overexagerated in my previous post. This surely is no landside win but I'd put money on Sturm beating Taylor via UD in a reasonable scored bout.

Why would Sturm fight Taylor less than 100% ?? In Taylors backyard. After Taylor just got 2 gift decisions. And his last fight he was robbed. No chance in hell he beats Taylor whether Taylor is too good or he gets robbed. It doesnt matter, he wont win unless he KO;s Taylor PERIOD. If he fights Taylor and lose(which he will) then what?? that could hurt his career more than not taking the fight. Im sure he will fight Winky for the belts

                hmm

There is nothing weak about this attempt. 450,000-750,000 dollars to fight Taylor is not weak, and the judges could've been international or otherwise. Sturm got robbed in Vegas, not Arkansas.

Again, Sturm needs to step up. 9 months layoff ain't **** today. Most guys do that on purpose and it doesn't faze them. You just don'r get chances everyday to be undisputed champ of the world.

No way does Sturm beat Taylor in a close fight, in Taylor's backyard. Especially for close to the same chunk of change the Taylor camp is offering, Sturm is getting in Germany. The guy came here and got robbed in his last outing. He is coming off an injury and should face Taylor in his comeback fight? Why doesnt Taylor just face Wright, rather than cry in the media over Sturm not accepting his offer to fight?

Because that would be too easy.

                      hmm

Exactly when did Taylor "whine" about Sturm not taking this offer?

                      I'd sure like to know.

Wouldn't really need judges anyway I'm sure, Taylor would win handily. I see we still got some old Bernard Slopkins fans that are jealous of Taylor.
