Of course there isn't. There are loopholes/shortcuts in all aspects of life. Conte knows this, yet JMM's coach is the one being picked apart by fans, Conte & to a certain extent, Roach himself.

I'm sure trials are being ran on all kinds of people, athletic or not, for a new & improved type of drug. You hear that all the time. But we'll be a lot closer if there were more tests done year round, randomly. The thing with shortcuts is that eventually everyone will figure them out and soon be exposed anyway.

well if heredia's methods were really effective and clean wouldn't at least some of those world champions he has been working for be confident enough to at least mention the work they've been doing with him and how successful its been? i mean so far its been marquez and that's only because conte exposed him for faking his name/identity on 24/7...a guy who works with 9 world champions and future potential world champions and has largely been unheard of in the boxing community before 24/7 is strange...

Maybe because these champs don't have the platform to tell this information to the boxing community? Maybe they are just a bunch of paper champs like the WBF silver champion that no one cares about or hears about

it's not fair to ask them to go through a hundred thousand dollars of testing in a year for a fighter who doesn't earn that much.


if the model of business in boxing is not sustainable the promotors will leave. arum has a lot of money. if they really bring rules about that are going to make him go backwards he'll leave.


shaeffer is a finance guru. goldenboy promotions could turn to a completely different industry in a year if they regulated it so heavily that they determined that it wasn't a sound industry to be in.

Yeah, Ward said its $50-$100k for an 8 week trial of random tests.. steep price.

But like baseball, they do as many as they want. With Ryan Braun they did 3 before and during the regular season and one right after the postseason started(I think) and he ended up getting caught although got away because of a technicality. There's not much need for 50 tests a year, price wise, but knowing that the possibility is there could help clean the sport to an extent

But there's a difference between having a regular S&C coach like Ariza and having a former PED dealer as a S&C coach. I generally don't give a fuck about fighter's S&C coach and they should remain low profile. But having a former known PED dealer as a S&C coach is something a fighter should need to disclose to the public.

Arce and Marquez HAVE made it public. The also have not refused testing and are willing to perform any tests. If the other champions don't want to disclose the information, then that's their problem and their choice. Some people hate being pestered about a subject by the media. However, JMM has been very vocal about Heredia and has no fear in testings. However, people ignore it.

If testing is affordable in other sports, it's affordable in boxing. If Arum and Schaefer don't want to dominate the industry, then others will only be too glad to take their place.

heredia said he works with a total of 9 world champions......and even the non top fighters get some media coverage and interviews.

and maybe they are paper world champs no one really hears about. World champion is a very loose term in boxing these days. In the 50s, i'd take it seriously, not much these days

and if they are lesser known, you think they are going to use their little media coverage to talk about their Strength trainer? c'mon now

well usually some of the generic questions often asked of a fighter by boxing/media journalists is "how's training camp been?" ..and so you'd at least expect one of those world champions to make mention of the good work he's putting in with their s&c coach...

Fairly standard. Heredia has been a high profile figure ever since the 24/7 series last year. In the 13 months since then, not one of these nine fighters has mentioned his name? Definitely a bit odd.
