For the record I think they both school him, but who would own him harder?

    Floyd

Mayweather would get hit less, just like he got hit less against Cotto than Trout did. Offensively, I don't know, it could be even. But i'm leaning towards Canelo knocking out Trout and being decisioned by Mayweather.

Also, keep in mind that Canelo actually has the same height and reach and as Trout, give or take just half. So the tremendous height/reach advantage Trout had over Cotto, goes out the window over Canelo Alvarez. I don't know for how much longer people will play the "Trout dominated Cotto" card, if you call that domination, getting pounded to the body like that by Cotto and getting caught with left hook after left hook, Canelo will do worse than that.

I don't know if you're picturing Canelo as Cotto and saying Trout will school him going by that Cotto fight, but Canelo is not Cotto he is a hard hitter, he has a good JMW height and reach and he is young. You need to take that back, about Canelo getting schooled by him. He could barely school Cotto.

        There's arm length to consider.

Black people have long arms. Alvarez is a stocky Mexican.

I'd obviously pick Mayweather to beat Canelo.

I'd lean on Trout to beat him aswell.

I just think Canelo will be a whole different fight from Cotto vs Trout. Trout will be on his bicycle, he'd have to box the perfect fight to win. Because the way he fought Delvin/Cotto, he won't beat Canelo. Canelo will be on him like white on rice, take his shots and beat his body up. Canelo beats Trout in to submission. He should take this fight, but I wouldn't mind seeing Canelo vs Cotto.

Of course it would be different.

But Alvarez hasn't fought anyone for me to think he would just walk through him like he has everyone else.

Alvarez' defense and footwork isn't very good IMO I'd like to see him against a world class boxer/mover to gauge how he could do with Trout.

Floyd is much better than Trout even at 154.

Stylistically i don't know, but Floyds style is hard for almost everyone.

I have Canelo beating Trout. It's kind of awkward to say about a guy who have not fought anyone elite, but if this fight opened this spring as even-steven i would bet alot on Canelo.

1 inch is not that much of an advantage
