I remember Trout winning the first two and the last six pretty clearly, so that doesn't leave many rounds for Miguel to take.

Just because the fight was competitive doesnt mean the scores have to be close. You got to score each round as if it were it's own fight, not give fighters rounds because they did a lot better than they did in the previous round. Miguel was very competitive from rounds 2-7, but in no way does that mean the judges are obligated to give him some rounds just so the cards will reflect the competitiveness of the overall fight. Each round is independent.

I think I gave Miguel three rounds, and honestly I try to score fights like I think they are being judged, in other words I was trying to be biased for Cotto as that's what I was expecting from the judges. Miguel fought his heart out, but his aggression was usually not effective and he couldn't hurt Trout. He couldn't bully or outbox him either, and while he did put in some great work landing a shot or slipping a few punches here and there, he didn't really do enough to take the rounds.

compubox is wrong. watch the fight. do i even have to bother posting the calzaghe deception video again? i know you won't watch it because you hate facts. please find the 23 punches calzaghe landed in the third or the 15 he landed in the 2nd. oh wait they don't exist! hopkins outlanded calzaghe in most of the rounds while making calzaghe swing and miss virtually all his punches. aka outboxed him but you don't know how to score fights and that's why you rely on made up numbers.

yeah like i said you don't like facts. you like relying on numbers that have been completely disproven because that's the only thing you have to claim calzaghe won. false numbers.

"I can't get my head around the fact that Calzaghe has won that fight. A very strange decision."
              BBC Sport's Ben Dirs

Some experts disagree with me but I think Hopkins has this. Like I said before, I hope I'm wrong.

adelaide byrd is the lone reason! those biased brits don't know how to score boxing! don't they know wild slappy punches that miss are worth more than clean punches!

Rounds 1-8 were all close rounds. Trout swept the rest and really closed out the show.

For me, I can see anywhere from 7-5 to 9-3.

But one thing about Paulie...he has fought Cotto and has said Cotto is the biggest puncher he's ever fought. So he probably in his head is valuing each of Cotto's connects more than any of us.

Not saying I agree with it but that's probably the explanation for the score.

yeah but he fought cotto at 140 so that's irrelevant. he just sucks and wants to make himself look better because he lost to cotto but he loses to everyone. is he going to hype up ngoudjo and cano because they beat him as well?

While 119-109 was a bit off I can see that more than I can see it a draw. Cotto won 3-4 rounds imo but none if those rounds where really dominant.
