I think Garcia knocks out Rios. I hope Tod Duboeff and Schaeffer make this fight happen.

If it were to happen, I got Danny all the way. Danny is a big ass 140, and he's stronger than anyone Rios has faced. Add that to good countering, very effective body work ( which no one seems to use on Rios), and a decent boxing IQ, Rios doesn't stand a chance. I enjoy watching Rios's fights, but balls, heart and a good chin don't show up on a score card.Comment

Rios would tear Garcia a new a**hole !! We all have seen how Rios fights, loves fighting on the inside....Garcia wouldn't know what to do when the pressure is being put on him. Rios can take a punch and from what I'm reading Rios is already planning on knocking this rinky dink champion out...Would love to see this fight...hopefully It'll happen.Comment

I have to go with Danny Garcia in this match up just because Rios likes to get hit and not sure how many accurate left hooks he can take from Garcia. Also, Garcia seems to be improving each time out and thinks more technical while Rios comes forward and applies pressure leaving himself open just to land a punch. A pressure fighter against a counter puncher...... I would have to go with the counter puncher because they can exploit a pressure fighter holes in their defense all day.Comment

But Garcia is a counterpuncher who is easy to hit and flat-footed. He's got power but I don't think he would keep Rios off of him with single shots, Rios proved his chin against a heavy handed 140lber in Alvarado. If that fight ever happens I see Rios coming forward, getting tagged with a monster left hook, smiling then landing 3-4-5 punches of his own on the inside. Rinse and repeat until Garcia gets worn down and stopped.Comment

I hear you but Rios is the kind of guy from the Margarito school of fighting and that style only lasts but for so long. You're either going to boxed around (Paul Williams) or KO'd hard (Shane Mosley). Rios is entertaining but the only way he is effective is if his opponent(s) fight his way, giving up all advantages like Alvarado did. A good counter puncher can stop him cold in his tracks. Not to mention that Garcia has good KO power and for people saying that Rios can take that left hook is just speculating because it hasn't happened yet. I'll take a guy who boxes with patience and counter punches over a guy who just pressures, takes hits to get hits any day because a counter puncher can control the pace of the fight if he is not reckless and abandon his game plan.
A good counterpuncher with movement and ring savvy can handle Rios, but Garcia doesn't move much, his defense is leaky and he doesn't even clinch. What if he lands the hard counters and Rios keeps coming? Once Rios is up close Garcia would have no answer.
It depends what kind of counter puncher and what kind of pressure fighter we're talking about, to automatically pick the the counter puncher is rather ignorant.Comment
