honestly i can see garcia outboxing rios and beating him and i can see rios mauling garcia and overwhelming him. i feel it would end up being a mixture of both and we'd all be raving about it and looking forward to the rematch by fights end

and people......garcia moves well. good enough to evade rios and catch him with a hook he doesn't see. hearing rios crap on his "no look hook" is funny but danny knows what he's doing. he times it well and looks away at the last second

Rios versus Broner now were talking

Why not match Rios up with the ****** warrior rap dancing broner. Now that is a fight. DeMarco was a disgrace to boxing and should be banned forever. Rios comes to fight.

A good counterpuncher with movement and ring savvy can handle Rios, but Garcia doesn't move much, his defense is leaky and he doesn't even clinch. What if he lands the hard counters and Rios keeps coming? Once Rios is up close Garcia would have no answer.

It depends what kind of counter puncher and what kind of pressure fighter we're talking about, to automatically pick the the counter puncher is rather ignorant.
Like I said. Speculating on whether Rios can take it. I feel Gracia is improving while Rios is who he is. I pick Garcia.

If that fight ever happens I see Rios coming forward, getting tagged with a monster left hook, smiling then landing 3-4-5 punches of his own on the inside. Rinse and repeat until Garcia gets worn down and stopped.

I hear you but Rios is the kind of guy from the Margarito school of fighting and that style only lasts but for so long. You're either going to boxed around (Paul Williams) or KO'd hard (Shane Mosley). Rios is entertaining but the only way he is effective is if his opponent(s) fight his way, giving up all advantages like Alvarado did. A good counter puncher can stop him cold in his tracks. Not to mention that Garcia has good KO power and for people saying that Rios can take that left hook is just speculating because it hasn't happened yet. I'll take a guy who boxes with patience and counter punches over a guy who just pressures, takes hits to get hits any day because a counter puncher can control the pace of the fight if he is not reckless and abandon his game plan.
Margaritas career was over 15 years long.

Yeah, but look at all the punishment he took during it. Look how he retired.

              Just what I was thinking.

I have this fight being close, but only because I feel Rios will have to fight honest and respect Garcia's power (not that it will KO him, but respect it), not because Garcia is some kind of boxer light on his toes with tons of movement.

He's a ****er/counterpuncher. His style is similar to a Humberto Soto except Soto is probably a better all around boxer.

All in all, I want to see this fight more than anything because I'm confident that Garcia will win.

This is a good fight and test for Broner. He needs someone that will bring the fight to him. I'm really curious to see how Broner reacts under pressure.

Rios isn't built like Margarito and won't last as long as he did. Plus, he's nowhere near as good. And all this back and forth is silly since this fight isn't happening as long as the fat lawyer still runs things over at Top Rank.

That's the thing dudes in here got twisted (not you). I didn't say Rios is like Margarito I said he comes from that school of fighting like him, regarding pressure and getting hit to give hits. He is going to get KO'd soon. I am sure it's a fighter out there that has the punch to humble him. May not be Garcia or it may but someone. A human being can't keep walking into flush power shots without being affected at some point. This ain't the Rocky movies.
