Trout said this was a coming out party and it was.

Props to Trout, this guy is legit. I think he is one of those guys that don't look like much at first sight but have the skills to nullify others. I would like to wait until he faces other fighters but it seems like he has what it takes to keep winning for a long time. His style is different but I think he could be some sort of new Winky Wright, a guy that does not look spectacular to the eye of casual fans but has the attributes to outclass the fan favorite.

I'll say one more thing and that's that Trout will be a handful for anybody. He is skilled, strong, and has a frame that could, easily, be that of a true middleweight. I think this guy is here to stay.

no it wasnt, he won but did nothing spectacular.

a Comming out party is usually dramatic.

I've been saying since the fight got signed that Trout will give Cotto trouble. Didn't think he'd win, but I knew he'd be a handful.

Everyone say's he looks bad in the Rodriguez fight but he doesn't to me. I thought he was impressive in that fight despite the lack of action. He dominated a very good fighter in Rodriguez.

That fight was pretty much the basis of my thoughts that Trout was clearly a good, skilled fighter.

      He was very impressive tonight.

That's a generic definition. The fact is that Trout was an unknown and now he won't anymore because he holds an official win over Cotto, who is a fan favorite and someone that casual fans know. By those terms, this is a coming out party.

He is a slick southpaw which is a nightmare to have to deal with. He could be around for a while.

I hope Canelo doesn't duck him now that he's been called out.

That's one of the reasons why he reminds me of Wright. Winky did not look like much against Candelo or Soliman, but against Mosley and Trinidad he was top notch. Trout might be that type of fighter.

I agree with this he won but people are not saying man I have to see the next Austin Trout performance im taking nothing away from he had a great fight but I do not think his fan base will grow that much.

Not really a canelo fan but I enjoy his fight and I root for him. If he choses not to fight Trout so be it, maybe trout should have won dramatically and put himself in a position to force Canelo to fight him.
