RJ Legacy before and after Tarver!!

What do you guys think. If RJ retired after Ruiz I'd think he'd be rated Top 3 P4P fighter of all time. Many from our generation would say that he would rip up SRR just on shere athleticism alone. Now sadly I dont think RJJ will even crack the top 5 p4p of all time in any weight division. What a sad turn of events for my favorite fighter. RJ in his prime was a beast. Leonard, Hearns, Hagler, he would have boxed the **** out of all of those guys in his prime.

RJJ was a talent, but he never had the heart. We just didn't know that he didn't. He was a really great amatuer, but a pro, i m not too sure.
leonard, hagler, and hearns all had prooved they had heart, and they are better fighters that him in any era of boxing. Roj jones was lucky that he didn't share the time period with these guyz, becuz otherwise he would have been humiliated and defeated very early in his career.

I don't think Roy dominated even his era enough to be considered one of the greatest fighters of all time.

RJJ is a very talented fighter. He has the skills, the speed and a very exciting one but he lacks the heart and the dominance to be considered in the top 5 in the all time P4P list.

Yes if he did retire after the Ruiz Fight I believe he can be considered in the top 3.

If Roy is your favorite, then you should check my thread called, Jones-Hopkins 2: The Other Side of the Coin. Check the original post. You might find it interesting.

Actually, your dad has a chance to dominate this era. Tell him to leave Tyson alone though because, as old as Tyson is, the punch remains.

Anyway, I think that Jones is the best fighter of his era, although his division was weak as hell.

Your dad seems like a decent dude. However, I think it was classless of him to tell Roy at his Ruiz post-fight conference that he was going to go to Pensacola and piss on Roy's mom. That was wrong.

Roy was the best fighter of his era, but he didn't fight a lot of guys he should have fought, that's for damn sure. Real dominance is clearing out ALL the names around you, not just one or two.

roy had more "god" given talent than anyone that has steped in a ring by this i mean he did not have to work hard to do the things he did his speed and reflexes and he dominated the 90s he made fighters look foolish in there w/o even trying ....he won titles at middle, super middle, light heavy, and heavy w/o hardly loosing a rnd. or having a glove laid on him then went back down to light heavy and won again that is dominance....also about his heart i don't know how its questioned he got ktfo by tarver and still cameback for a re-match if he did not have heart he would of retired..
