This kid can fight and I feel with Floyd taking so much time off between fights could prove disaster if he fights Canelo. The Ghost wouldn't be much of a threat, but something makes me uneasy about the Canelo fight. I'd rather not see any of the greats lose to these young bucks, but it's the nature of boxing. Out with the old, in with the new. But Canelo? lol
Canelo is definitely a legit opponent for anyone. That kid is growing up bad ass. I would welcome the fight and buy the PPV if that happened.

Now if he picks Guerrero
Floyd will never be seen as one of the bravest fighters of the sport, he takes an age to decide who he is willing to fight and there is never any pressure on Floyd, he can go about everything at his pace, not ever boxer has that luxury as most boxers dont want to be seen as a joke like Floyd dont mind.

Canelo isnt exactly a cherry pick as opponents go, but that dont change the fact that Floyd has been a cherry picker for the majority of his career. And if he were to fight Canelo, big deal, he should be fighting the likes of Canelo and not be expected bravery medals or awards.
If the SSM's of this world have already fought Canelo, what is holding Floyd up once again, as Floyd is passing himself off as one of the best fighters of the sport.
If your passing yourself off as, and promoting yourself as one of the best if your not going to fight the Canelos of this world, who do you expect to fight?

On top of that, Canelo is a vicious puncher but would a guy this inexperienced have the patience to time his combinations well when he gets in close, rather than just letting loose?

Does he have a tight enough defence both inside and in the centre of the ring to stop Floyd potshotting him cleanly or landing the eye-catching blows?

And does he actually have the stamina to chase Mayweather around the ring and continue to physically boss him on the inside?

I think there are question marks over Canelo in all these areas, and failure in any one of them almost certainly means defeat against Mayweather.
idk mayweather has gotten in a pattern of always laying against the ropes and trying to shoulder roll all the punches. He did it with oscar and ortiz canelo is much bigger punches harder and throws some mean combos. Would love to see it

If Mayweather picks Canelo I would be very happy. I would like to see Mayweather lose and I think Canelo can beat him. If Floyd fight Canelo it is not a cherry pick. If Floyd fights Guerrero it is not a cherry pick. Canelo is the more dangerous fight but Guerrero has proven himself and is a welterweight champion. That's my opinion.

Canelo does absolutely NOTHING that can give Mayweather Problems, his only hope is Mayweather loses a step...OR 10 lol that is his only chance, he can't outbox Mayweather, he doesn't have one punch power to have a Punchers chance, I guess he will try to pressure Mayweather and get inside but Canelo is not even that good inside and he leaves himself opened to get countered inside

I think Guerrero been tested more and at 147 now I think he puts up a better fight then Canelo would
This is exactly what it is.

I never said he is ducking him but out of the options out there he makes the most sense, competitive wise! and $ wise so whats the problem? But Lets be Honest Canelo vs Guerrero who wins? Exactly and since Floyd fights once every century this fight could be made also. I would not pay to see 0 % chance Guerrero vs Mayweatyher but 35% chance Canelo Yes, this is low but Im giving him a better edge than i have anyone since Mayweather v De La Hoya.

Most people saw that win as justification to move Ward up to No.1 or No.2 on their P4P list.

So maybe floyd should use some initiative and step up to 160? He can bloat JMM i forgot how many division in one go, so why cant floyd step up 1 more division.
At this point in Floyds career, Floyd fighting Sergio at 154 is better than nothing as the main thing is to get Floyd in the ring. No more excuses.
