Someone refresh my memory, what was the last fight GBP and Top Rank made together?

I don't know why people would expect any less of Arum.

The problem with the deal is Arum needed Rios for his big star and beating Matthysse doesn't do that much for Rios but I would see why GBP would ask for him because Mares is not just any guy on their roster so when asking for a fighter to "buy/trade" it would be rising star for rising star. Donaire-Mares is the bigger and better fight but it is not worth the risk of Rios catching an L currently.

Arum really only likes to deal if he is straight ripping off someone else, he would be a very hard person to deal with because you would have to go through everything if he wanted to make a deal just to figure out what is his angle, then when you realize what the deal is and tell him to go screw himself he will cry to the media saying I tried to make a deal screaming about certain aspect that are positive, leaving out the onerous details which are why it got refused.

I think ARum is also smart enough to know he has the inferior fighters but they both draw and generate much more than the GBP fighters. From a business perspective I can see why Bob is doing this. It would be a lose/lose for TR.

for just fights where it was GBP vs TR - Lara vs. Martyrosian

why??? are you an idiot? the fair thing is whoever offers the most for the fight gets to promote it simple. work out a split beforehand and thats that, what gbp did is the fairest thing.
agreed on this my friend, I agree.

Arum is an absolute ****. Why is he willing to "trade" money for a fighter(Mares) but not trade another fighter(Rios) instead? Besides, it's not like it's a permanent switch or anything. He's denying boxing fans a potential Fight of the Year in Rios-Matthyse!

Schaefer is good at floating "balloon" which are not meant to go anywhere..... I suppose that the boxers themselves would have no say in this.....???? They have cast-"iron contracts with their promoters who have to promote their fights. I don't believe a promoter could voluntarily step aside.
