I can't believe there are people that still blame Floyd (or Manny) for this fight not happening. The culprit is as plain as day. Bob Arum, burn in hell.

Cant say I blame Arum. Mares for Rios isnt a fair trade. A Rios win over Matthysse doesnt raise Rois' profile at all. If GBP was willing to make Rios vs Broner I could see Arum doing that deal. But with Rios being a possible opponent for Pacquiao I doubt Arum would risk Rios.

After reading numerous comments such as this directly from Arum, people still want to blame Pac-man and or Floyd for their fight not happening ....

How much more evidence is needed?

Arum is the problem on Pac's end and Shaeffer is the problem on Floyd's end -- i.e. Top Rank will not work with GBP and vise-versa.

Ironically baseball does better in all aspects then boxing. Maybe trading players is actually good for the sport. Not the BA cares.

I wonder if its written somewhere in Top Rank contracts that fighters can't use their own star power to call shots, lest they be punished in someway

I feel like if Manny really gave a shit, he could do something... But if what I said is true... Satan and Arum have a lot in common

Man, Bob Arum is a piece of ****. Those two fights would be ridiculous, but why should we expect to get good fights, am I right? Ah, boxing fans. They must be the most loyal fans to any sport, lately. Given, all the bull**** that goes on in boxing, it's amazing so many fans still stick around. What can I say? It would be amazing if someday these two promoters start working with each other since they have some of the best fighters in the world signed to their companies. Realistically, I think Golden Boy has more fighters and better fighters than Top Rank. Maybe Golden Boy can come out on top and be the best promotional company so that Top Rank is either run out of business or is forced to do business with Golden Boy. I think that day is approaching really fast, and it's only a matter of time. Top Rank is dying slowly.

Also, I think the best thing that can be done is to call attention to this rivalry and for the journalist to keep writing articles on this rivalry. As long as more people are aware of it, more people will be skeptical of continuing their support for boxing if they know these kinds of things are going on. Therefore, this will put pressure on promotional companies to work together in order to bring back fans. So, the media should definitely press the issue and keep asking these people why these companies are not working together. They should let them know what the fans want and why they are not giving people the fights fans want to see.
