Ricky is the much smaller man and he proved that he couldn't take a solid punch himself at 147 when he was active in the ring: KO'd against Mayweather and badly hurt against Collazo.
KO'd after 10 rounds of solid punches from Mayweather and a collision with the ring-post, he also wasn't allowed to get inside to smother his opponent's punches.
the size difference looks a lot at a glance, but ricky has always been short compared to his opponents. it's a point in his favour, if anything, because most of the fight will take place within that "phone-booth" range.
I've had a ticket since it got annouced and wasn't really looking forward to it but i'm pumped now. I was at his first fight(only 10 at the time so don't remember)and to be watching him again all these years later is great.
Just hope he can do the business tonight...ah well time to go get a shower and get the train to manchester.
All depends on the early rounds I reckon. Senchenko is a technical, rigid Andy Lee type fighter who'll be very uncomfortable in a brawl. But if he absorbs Hatton's energy early on, Hatton will gradually start to run out of steam and start walking onto those straight right hands. Fight has stoppage written all over it.
My only concern for Ricky is whether the punch resistance is still there. He looks in great shape hope he puts on a great show. The undercard is also phenomenal.
although i'm pretty confident hatton is just a class above senchenko, one fight that keeps popping into my head as a point of comparison is rees-kotelnik.
