I'm a little shocked on how short Hatton looks in those photos facing Senchenko.

That's my point.....Ricky doesn't have what it takes to deal with a Hatton style at this point. He'll burn himself out like a candle with no oxygen. Senchenko has something to prove after the Paulie loss and Hatton beat up on Paulie at 140, not 147. Paulie looked much stronger at 147 than he did at 140 as well.

I realize that is a big reason for Hatton taking this fight but the circumstances aren't the same for the two fights. Ricky is the much smaller man and he proved that he couldn't take a solid punch himself at 147 when he was active in the ring: KO'd against Mayweather and badly hurt against Collazo. I doubt he has suddenly developed a stronger beard so to speak by snorting lines off the coffee table and drinking 10 pints a day while eating fish and chips on his couch the last 3 years.

Too many people keep thinking of the Hatton of old, people should instead be focusing on the reality of how he has treated himself over the last 3 years, the effects of not remaining physically active year round on cardiovascular performance, the mental stress and doubts that come along with a guy who retired under his circumstances and is now back in the international spotlight, the fact that he is contemplating his life after another loss, and the lack of confidence his own trainer has expressed in the last few days.

It's always great to be nostalgic about our favorite athletes but everybody ages and to remain a peak level athlete despite aging, you must life a peak level lifestyle.

Win or lose, seeing Ricky in good health and spirit is enough for me. I hope he goes well...

I just watched that fight over and Malignaggi was excellent that night.

But once Senchenko lost his plan A, he just didn't want to be in the ring. If Hatton has half of what he used to have, eventually he'll bother Senchenko, the fight will open up and it won't be long before a big body shot finishes it all off.

Got to laugh at the people who say Senchenko will get stopped because Paulie stopped him. Pauli didn't KO the guy the fight was stopped because of a swollen eye.

Did Freddie Roach train Senchenko for this fight?
