Do you live here? Cause I do, and where I live none of the things you mention happens. Maybe it is because I know people who truly know how to party (i.e. drugs are out of the question...). Point is, you involve yourself with drugs, anything can happen... VIOLENCE can happen! All that ***** you read on "El Vocero" is usually:

1) Drug related
2) Gang related
3) Infidelity

You stay away from "Area Metro" and don't get involve in any of those 3, you are good to go! So my main point is, if he wasn't getting high in that car with drugs all over the place, he would be fine... so it's not really the Country, is the people who live life on the edge... Sadly, Macho was one of those!

No I dont live there, my parents do, And I can tell you this that PR has changed alot since the 1980's until now, I remmember walking to school as a kid and everything was nice, no one had bars up on there houses etc..but now..forget about there isnt 1 house in PR that dont have a huge gate or iron bars up, even in the nicer areas like Humacao, fajardo etc..its not just Carolina and Santurce and Bayamon anymore. My point is this they just shot a Legend..thats really effed up, that just shows the total disregard for human life, and most of the people running around pulling triggers are like 13-15 years old..

So sad to hear. I remember back in the 80's when he was a rising star, David Letterman had him on his show before one of his fights and was showing some highlights of Hector. He had the audience in awe of his handspeed.

My #1 musical idol of all time, Lennon, was shot to dead, now one of my favorite boxers of all time has to go through the same situation. Both are ATG's in their respective fields, both were disgraced by scumbags. ****'n drugs and criminality always messing everything.

He will die, that is certain. RIP Hector Camacho, you were the fastest fighter I have ever seen. At 130, no one threw a punch faster, ever. One of my 10 favorite fighters. I remember when he cried on TV and said he just wanted people to like him. It takes a lot for a man to cry in front of so many people. Thats when I became a fan.
