I'm pretty sure it was fighting the top 5 P4P, undefeated Diego Corrales that won Floyd the 130 pound Lineal title.

Floyd won the WBC 130 title from Genaro Hernandez.

And Ring and Lineal aren't the same thing.

Floyd was Lineal 130 champion, not Ring. They're two different titles. Ring tries its best to follow The Lineal champion.

That is if i'm not mistaken. I was only 11 years old when this happened lol, and really in to Tyson, Holyfield, Lewis, not Floyd or the lower weights.

Mayweather beat Genaro Hernandez for the Lineal Title.

Who won it off Azumah Nelson, who won it in a box off with Leija.

Corrales was a really good win but he fought him at 24 I think. How do you become the lineal champion (what ranking do you follow)?

Leija never appeared to be the #1/2 contender, #4 was the highest he ever got (going by RING rankings). Nelson probably became #1 contender ranking fighting the #4 Leija. #3 ranked Genaro Gernandez then became the #1 contender fighting Nelson. Mayweather may have been unranked when he fought Genaro. This might be why neither Genaro nor Mayweather had won the RING belt at the time. Maybe by today's rules the (#1 v. #3) Nelson v Genaro would have been for the RING belt.

Ring and Lineal are both equally the best. A fighter could be both the Ring/Lineal champion, or he could be one.

Shane Mosley actually won the lineal title at 147 when he defeated Margarito. But The Ring never recognized him as the champion. He was still the man to beat in the division after that fight.

I think he was 23 years old at the time he fought Corrales.
