I think Bowe was good, but not great. His two fights against Golota and his refusal to fight Lewis proved this.

      What are your thoughts?
Rid**** Bowe had the physical tools to be an all-time great. He could have had epic battles with Lewis and Tyson. I always get irritated when I think about Bowe. The nineties could have been a replay of the seventies with all the epic matchups. Ninties where still a fun decade..but what it "could have been"

He unfortunately did not have the desire or intelligence to be great.

bowe could of had a great career but its not just what he lacked mentally...and his refusal to seriously train...the perfomance he had against holyfield in their 1st. fight was never going to be duplicated it was just one of those nights boxers have were they are masterfull but it will never happen again...for exmaple douglas vs. tyson, taylor vs. chavez they were never able to perform at that level after those fights its the same for bowe also the holyfield trilogy took his heart...

Bowe had all the tools, but lacked the mental makeup to be an all-time great. Also, as others have mentioned, he left parts of himself in the ring with the Holyfield trilogy. Those were some rugged and entertaining fights. Hrm, I also think he might have been 3-0 versus Holyfield, except for that nut flying into the ring. It sure seemed like he was getting the momentum right around when "fan man" decided to land on the apron. Just my opinion.
