Some truth in this. Crowd's influence on judges and ref is a bigger factor though.

Wtf. Are you serious? Of course he would.
This is ******ed arguing that you perform just as good outside of your home town as in your home town.
Every sport stresses home field home court advantage. Every single one.
There is a reason the champions league finals is held at a neutral venue.
There is a reason in the American NBA, home court advantage is so played up.

That being said, it don't mean you will win all the time, it just means from a mental point of view, you will give more effort.

I honestly don't think Nigel Benn could have survived Gerald if that fight was in America instead of England where 10k+ fans were screaming for Nigel Benn every single minute of every single round.

Froch says he's in the best physical shape of his life in the post fight interview he also said he has been breaking all his personal bests in training, I believe him.

The best scientific research on this points to the crowd's influence on officials as the biggest factor in home advantage - http://www.ingentaconnect.com/conten...00004/art00001

Given the scoring system in boxing it's probably an even bigger factor than most other sports.

Froch has proven he has various dimensions to his game, he surprised everyone with the ease in which he beat Abraham after a loss, he did the same by blasting out Bute. I would say a match now would be more competitive between Ward and Froch, owing to him taking a different approach with that experience under his belt. People also forget he finished their fight better and stronger.

For some fighters it's more exciting to beat your opponent on his home turf and silence the crowd. Some fight better at home, others perform the same regardless of the venue. EVERY FIGHTER IS DIFFERENT.

No. Unfortunately for Froch, he's always gonna be #2 because of Ward. Still an ATG in my book. This was his first "easy" fight in a long time. He's definitely earned it. He's a smart fighter, a lot smarter than people give him credit for.

                    I agree with this .
Once again not saying Froch can beat wARD. He can't.
I just thought that he has steadily improved over the years and this is the best version.

I voted no and I would have voted that he was already past prime when he fought Ward if that option had been available. As a rule athletes are at their strongest between 25 and 30 years old. If they take care of themselves they can still be very good past 30 but they are slowly going down hill. There may be exceptions to the rule but for a boxer to have not hit and past his prime by Froch's age would be very unlikely.
