    Mayweather vs Coralas Stoppage.

Just had a chance to step back and watch this fight again. One questions; was the fight stopped to early by his corner? I know this comes off a dumb, but I was thinking he didn't look that hurt and I wonder if he was playing possum partly, to draw Mayweather into trading to get him out. Is that a possibility or am I reaching here. Virtuoso performance by Mayweather I might add, everything was in check footwork power shots jab everything was working to perfection.

You're reaching IMO. Corrales was hurt and had been hurt at other points in the fight. His corner did the right thing because there was no point in his taking anymore punishment.

He may not have had to get stopped, he could have gone the full distance, but he was getting demolished and it was the 6th round... One way or another he was gonna lose and had no chance

He never said anything about "playing possum" All he complained about was "I shouldn't be able to walk out of here, I should be taken out in a stretcher" which is ******

Corrales was getting consistently tagged with flush power shots and his legs were completely gone. That fight was over.

Yeah agreed. I remember when first saw this fight way back, I was like this guy is a dumb ass... then i remember his fight with José Luis Castillo and I he had gas when he was getting up and i think the mistake that was make is when Castillo traded with him. I was just wondering if he was thinking of doing that.

But yeah it was a blowout no doubt!

Corrales vs Castillo was competitive throughout though...Mayweather v Corrales was pure domination.

I heard Corrales only trained for like two weeks for that fight.

Floyd only trained like a week for that fight. Chicos step dad had no business stopping the fight. Sounds cynical, but the ref was going to let him continue. I think Floyd finishes him in that round, but Chico had tons of heart. He might've been able to finish on his feet.

if it had continued, the scorecards would've been something like 120-103 !
