Interesting media come back by GBP. Wonder what TR would say next.

Rios beat a fringe top 10 contender in his only fight at 140 ad was losing up till then. Rios v Lucas is fair to me cause Mares v Nonito is the much bigger fight.

And all thise saying for arum to wait out mares contract, i highly doubt he will leave GBP for one fight for a company that is sinking. I mean look at bradley he cant even find a fight

Mares has been one of the only boxers I've heard say that the GBP-Top Rank feud is getting in the way of making fights/his career. I know others have privately spoken about it to writers, but, I'm not sure I've heard anyone else willing to be quoted about it. He may very well be willing to at least temporarily leave GBP to get the fight.

I think this is a great idea by Golden Boy. The obvious fly in the ointment as mentioned is that Rios is probably the frontrunner for Pac's next fight. But, I really believe JMM is going to win this time and its going to be irrelevant. But, since nothing is being discussed until after the 12/15 Donaire-Arce fight, we will know by then what happens with Pac.

In fact, Bob risking Rios against Matthyse should be more than enough reward for Oscar in exchange the full promotional rights for both rights.

Anyway, Bob should just respond with "**** Mathyse, I'll give you Rios for a Garcia fight. He has a belt, Matthyse doesn't."

I'm not sure Donaire is necessarily bigger than Mares, but think of it this way. Does Donaire need Mares more than Mares needs Donaire? I'd say Mares need Donaire a lot more than Donaire needs Mares.
Matthysse is Garcia's mandatory, Rios just got there. At this point Mares has a hard-on for Donaire, so it's safe to say Mares needs Donaire.

Talk about anything boxing related here. Where the boxing discussion is always Non Stop!

So boxing fans have been denied of some fights that ought to happen, fighters want it to happen, but didn't because of this greedy beef between top rank and golden boy. Worse is that this **** will continue to happen for as long as they can't get their acts together.

Obviously a co-promotion doesn't work for these greedy mother****ers because they want all the profits for themselves. GBP at one time even accused top rank of cheating them of profits so i don't think they can work together to co-promote a fight.

So how about a fighters swap? Meaning...gbp will let one of his fighters to fight under top rank in exchange for a top rank fighter to be promoted by gbp. For example, top rank will get to promote donaire-mares with no participation from gbp and in return, top rank will let rios fight mathysee under gbp promotions. Or, whatever exchange that makes sense to both of them. They can also make an option B just in case one of the fighters gets injured during the training or something like that. Everybody wins and no complications.
You never know - good one

What's the problem with that if he's offering them step aside money AND Golden Boy's company will be marketed as if they participated with the promotion.

                  I don't see a problem with this.

For those that have co-workers, have you ever been assigned a project and you felt like too many hands were in the pot making things complicated?

I know I have. There's been plenty of times when I was given a simple project. But catering to others opinions and working with 20 different ideas ended up being harder than the actual project itself.

                  I don't blame Arum.

You're right about Mares contemplating to leave Golden Boy, especially since they have nothing to further his legacy. Mares stated on record that Donaire is all that matters to him (not Golden Boy, if you read inbetween the lines, but that can change with his team).

What I don't agree with is JMM winning against Pac. I respect your opinion, but Pac will take whatever alphabet diamond universe belt is up for grabs. And then Rios will be jittering for real when eating Pac's punches.

What happened to the days a fighter could fight whomever he wanted to fight. C'mon fighters, have a voice in your own career. Stop letting these promoters puppet you around.
