Amir Khan's little comeback at Froch must have really hurt though

Something about not being as popular is what really gets under Froch's skin

Khan's remark may have cut Froch a little bit, but there was also a misunderstanding: IIRC Froch gave his opinion on Khan's loss, and the reporter sort of left out a small but important piece of information that would have changed the whole context of what Froch was saying. Amir heard that Froch wanted Khan to retire, so Khan childishly said he was more popular then Froch, when all Froch really said was that if it was Froch that lost that way, he(Froch) would have retired.

The difference between the two is that Khan is(was) more popular then Froch, but unlike Froch, Khan's fans are bandwagon fans; once Khan lost to Peterson he began to lose fans and then against Garcia, Khan really began to hemorrhage fans. Froch has a smaller fanbase, but I think its a more dedicated fanbase. Froch lost to Ward, but he never lost fans.

I, as a fan of fast-handed boxers in general, and of the 140lb division, will happily watch Khan-Molina because Khan is still great to watch, but I no longer consider myself a "fan" of Khan's, and that's because of his attitude. I think that's the case for a lot of boxing fans. Khan has been haemorrhaging fans because every time he opens his mouth he's overstating his own worth, just like he did in the last 24 hours about taking on the winner of Brook-Alexander, as if somehow he deserves it.

We'll see if Virgil can work his magic anyway.

Froch isn't scared of opening his mouth either, but at least he's fundamentally consistent.

Froch is way bigger than Calzage

Calzage has been forgotten and Joe's meager career not remembered at all. Froch is a world warrior taking on the best fighters in their prime. Calzage hid in Wales his whole career accomplishing little. Froch is the champion. Froch is one tough dude who would have destroyed ******* Joe.

"I'm willing to die come November 17th" That's good Yusaf, because Froch is going to kill you.
