"We made a written offer to Matchroom (Froch's promoters) of a million pounds to Carl Froch for him to fight Nathan for Nathan's title. We could have done it at a catchweight," commented Warren.

"They declined. We got an email back saying he was going to continue fighting at super-middleweight, so that was that."
Froch is chasing that dough just like everybody else in the game. That's the cold hard truth.
I would ordinarily agree but listen to Froch speak in his interviews. Unlike most other fighters he talks about his belt like it means something, he talks about wanting to break into the top 10 pound for pound rankings, his dream of fighting at the City Ground and being remembered as a legend.

IMO this is a fighter more concerned with recognition and respect than money.

Lets put aside if Froch deserves a rematch for now, if he beats Bute again and then Kessler I think we can all safely say he will be a legit challenger to Ward, but more importantly then if Froch deserves to fight Ward now, should be if he does get himself into that position, shouldn't Ward buck the trend of a lot of American boxers and prove he can fight away from home, in a hostile environment?

Imagine what it would do for Wards legacy if he found his passport and left the USA and stopped Froch in Nottingham. Now Ward fighting Froch in Nottingham makes a lot of sense for everyone other then Ward's most die hard fans. Beating Froch at home after another good run would be far more impressive then the other beating he put on Froch IMO

          "Probably bull****ting"

Give it up. You're done. Warren shows the written offers in an interview. If Froch was "chasing the dough", he'd be fighting Cleverly right now. That's the cold hard truth.

Stop pathetically and shamelessly trying to criticise one of the only fighters in the sport that actually fights for legacy before money.

Ward needs to leave Oakland to see how good he really is.

              I was about to say.

Froch is probably one of, if not the only fighter in the sport who cares about legacy before money.

If he's "chasing the money", why would he not go straight after Ward? Who's apparently a cash cow now

Instead he's wanting to fight Kessler first and has already said he'll concede the lions share of the money just to make the fight. Even go to Denmark again!

                That Carl "Money" Froch eh....

Thanks Bo. So sick of people doing what that poster did. If they would pay attention, they would know what his nickname is.

He fought Abraham in "Little Armenia" Carson, CA and he fought Froch in Atlantic City, NJ.
