Before I go any further, let me say that Russell is one of the best boxers out there today. I'm just analyzing his choice of opponents, knowing that he is smart to win a championship first, if he can, so he'll make more money fighting better talent. Why go to war with Mikey now with no title at stake? Or Salido without his own champion belt for bargaining power. He may even be able to get John out of Indonesia if he has a championship to offer. I never said he was ducking or cherry picking, just being smart for taking the easiest route (supposedly) in order to get paid more for harder fights. Russell is a monster and I respect him as much as any fighter alive today, but some of the guys he fights, not so much.

When did he turn down Fortuna or Dibb?
