The record books officially say Tim Bradley SD12 Manny Pacquiao, too.

But we all know who really won those fights.

dirrell made froch look like a complete amateur for good portions of their fight. he really tee'd off on him a few times, and 100% had him stunned. that said, he behaved like an amateur himself, with the holding, and even worse, flopping to the ground to avoid punishment. eventually a ref should start counting if a fighter adopts that tactic.

i had dirrell beating froch as he was the much more effective puncher, but if the judges wanted to flag him for being unprofessional i don't have a huge problem with it.

athletically dirrell has it all. he's one of the fastest fighters in the world when he's on the top of his game and at his most sharp. like you said, he gets leverage on his punches and can crack.

his chin is weak and he doesn't have a fighters constitution, and i think that's whats going to lead him to do less and lose close fights, or perhaps even get stopped.

and finally, if he took abraham's best punch flush on the jaw while on one knee, and then came up with a massive conspiracy to get out of the tournament, he's got an iron jaw
iron. that was a flush bomb by arthur f#cking abraham. that would stop a cruiserweight.

dirrell was not faking that injury. he had no idea what was going on post fight.
The thing that make me laugh though is that with all that talent Ward would impose his will and superior Boxing IQ to beat Dirrell if they fought.

I'm still not convinced or have very little to go by regarding his chin.

Unlike some slick fighters Dirrell doesn't exacly looked settled, like when he faced Froch even though he had all the tools and ability in the world to avoid Froch he looked anxious and it cost him.

The back end of the Abraham fight after dominating as the underdog, he again started to look edgy like he lacks belief of his enourmous talent when the pressure is on.

So again if he had Toney's or Floyds relaxed, settled manner again he'd be twice the fighter he is now.

My point is that if he did have a solid jaw he wouldn't look so anxious under pressure???

Dirrell definitely has a lot of talent, no question.

But I question his mental toughness.

I'd like to see him fighting again though.

It wasnt great to watch last time he came over here but hes entitled to a second chance. Maybe he is more confident now and can put on a show but if we see more whinging, holding and acting pretending he is knocked out then he wont be welcomed back a 3rd time.

But his heart is his downfall and chin is more than likely suspect, the performance against Froch though at times made Froch look like **** was also marred by hugging and falling over, and refusing to engage.

The things that really stand out are his speed and his head movement and overall movement to defend himself.

I mean he really is the Matrix when he did stand straight infront of Froch on the ropes he would slip punches effortlessly.

Also he really hurt Froch in that fight witht he left, and Froch's chin is granite, Froch backed up like never before so we know he has pop in his punches when he sits on them.

I've never seen someones face open up like Mike Pascall's did against Dirrell.

Dirrell really need to step it up and show at the moment when his skills aren't going to win him a fight that he can find a way to win.

He beats anyone not called Ward and that includes Pascal and Dawson at 175.
good post, i have been repeating your last sentence for a while now.

i agree 100%. he's got the athletic tools to deal with pressure. footspeed, height/strength, and power.

guys with solid chins are generally the ones with solid resolve, so long as thety're in shape and ahve the skills / tools . dirrell gets into a bad situation and he'll do whatever he can to avoid getting his chin touched. that doesn't give anybody (including andre dirrell,) confidence in his chin.

I'd even like to see him rematch Froch again one day but this time to stay on his feet and engage so we can watch an entertaining fight - maybe in a Chavez-Lee size ring.

Ward should give him a fight first though, he does not have many quality alternative opponents.

I thought Dirrell beat Froch so I'd like to see that rematch aswell but it's unlikely.

Dirrell should try and make some noise and get back in the picture.
