If a Prime Lennox Lewis was around in today's division with his class and his lack of trash talking. Will you be his fan?

If Klitschkos were Jamician British fighters from London instead of Ukraine?

Will you be their fans still? Same personality, same skills, same achivements. but they are now Jamicians from London. What happens?
A lot of Klitschko fans are fans of only the Klitschkos and not many other boxers ... I'd venture to say a lot are not even fans of the sport of boxing

I'm not a fan of Lennox Lewis but he never claimed that he lost a fight due to being drugged, he never quit nor has he ever tested positive for steroid usage.

That's why people were so damn attracted to Mayweather v. Pacquiao; it's the ultimate loudmouth, trash talking fighter vs the classic humble, soft spoken fighter. It's a formula that has worked time and time again and made some of the most anticipated and classic fights of all time. De La Hoya-Vargas comes to mind, as does the Ali-Frazier trilogy.

It's attractive for many reasons. Look at DLH-Vargas; if Vargas had just shown up at the press conferences and said "Man. Oscar is a good friend and I respect him a lot. I hope I do well, but he's really good." No one would have given a ****. What made the fight classic is that Vargas talked mad **** and put himself out there, which made it all the more satisfying when Oscar made him eat his words and got the KO.

The "bad guys" in boxing create enemies for the "good guys." Without it, you'd just have FC 360 Pacquiao-Mosley every time.
agree with everything. tyson was the ultimate bad guy

        Difference between Vitali & Lewis:

Vitali gets slapped on the side of the cheek; due to being a disciplined Gentleman he does not know how to react to a street situation. Then attempts to hold Chisora and ask for a apology but ultimately fails.

Tyson walks up to Lennox, Lennox holds his ground. As Tyson stares into the Eye of The Tiger he sees Lewis does not waiver, he then hits Lewis's Bodyguard with a left hook. Lennox throws a right cross then a Brawl erupts between both camps.

Vitali is only dominant in controlled situations. Both are nice guys who carry themselves like Gentleman outside the ring but when it's time to go to the streets Lennox understands what is necessary.

I agree with your post to some extent. Floyd talked major trash to Mosley and that fight was much more boring than Mosley's fight with Pac, who didn't talk any trash.

It is pathetic and sad and even worse posters rather indulge in that garbage then talk about actual boxing. This is why i am a huge Klitschko fan because they hold themselves in high standards and act like men. They give back to people with less and you don't hear about them going to jail,or going on Twitter posting ridiculous garbage for attention.
Why do ppl watch Jerry Springer? Same reasoning....

Lewis was arrogant at times, but damn he could back up his talk. The right balance between a fighter and professional.

Lennox Lewis is gentleman, scholar and a motherfukin G!

The difference between 'classy' and 'classless' is usually just personality. Muhammad Ali said de****able stuff about Frazier but because the guy oozed charisma, the popular image of him is as this intelligent and witty guy.

A lot of guys just can't sugarcoat their arrogance with that charisma because they just don't have that intelligence and wit. But they need people to remember them so they have to be loud and arrogant anyway. One of the worst things that can happen to a boxer is that people forget about them. If you're a loved action fighter like a Miguel Cotto you don't have to worry about that so much. But if your fights aren't that exciting for causal fans, then you need to find another way to implant yourself in their memory.

Ultimately that's why a guy like Floyd is as unpopular as he is. The way he sees it, he's just trash talking like any other fighter, but because there's no humour or wit in it, he just ends up looking like a ****.
