First of all, does 50 even remotely realize that Ward and Dirrell are good friends? Second of all, how and/or why in the hell did 50 start throwing Dre's name around in the midst of a "war of words" with Floyd? Given the fact Ward really has no strong association with Floyd whatsoever, it really makes no sense to me why out of nowhere 50 would just be like "F.uck Ward" "Dirrell wants some" like, really? Don't get me wrong I like the idea of the fight, but the rest of this s.hit makes NO sense to me at all.

On the fight itself, I have doubts that either will fight each other given their close friendship no.1, no.2: Dirrell knows he has much easier title options out there for example, against Abraham in a rematch. How the fight would play out? Dirrell's speed would make things awkward for the first 4 rounds, but Ward chops him down by the 11th.

I think this is Fifty's way of trying to promote fights, but the hostile chemistry that works so well with other fighters like Floyd Mayweather, Ricardo Mayorga, Angel Garcia, and MMA Chael Sonnen - Fifty doesn't have that entertainment hostility. At least it doesn't translate well into boxing. It's one thing for boxers to be hostile because they are the athletes in the ring. It's another thing for trainers to go off the chain because ultimately they are responsible for the athlete's health and conditioning and have formed an emotional bond to the athlete. It's completely something else when a promoter goes off on the hostilities when his only connection to the fighter is money.

This isn't good hype for a bout between Dirrell and Ward, especially with (1) they are friends and a 'friendly' hype would be more acceptable then a ''hostile' hype (I also don't believe that Ward could pull off a convincing hostile image, he's too respectful IMO) and (2) if both boxers knew they were even on each others radar. If both promoters are calling for a bout with big money on it, shouldn't the fighters find out first from the promoters instead of hearing it 2nd hand?

Dirrel would be like a +500 against Ward

Why would 50 cent bet 20 million straight up when he can make 100 mill in Vegas?

This prince dude is a idiot

                      - How does Fifty respond?

This is a make or break moment for Fifty. If he puts the money down this is going to be enormous pressure on both camps, but with a greater amount going onto Dirrell to beat the best 168 AND having Fifty breathing down his neck to win. If Fifty backs off that shows promoters he doesn't have the balls to hang in the business and is capable of being pushed around. If that happens a lot of the 'infallible aura' Fifty has will fade away in all businesses.

If Fifty bets and loses, he'll be a laughing stock and regarded as one of the worst modern day promoters. A lose would damage his reputation more then his wallet.

If Fifty bets and wins, he becomes a new force in boxing and people will think longer about fighting or signing up to his stable.

...But if I was Dirrell or Ward with that much money on the table, I would just throw the fight and make a cool couple mil while doing so.
Man them dudes dont care about that money, they get paid enough. Maybe not 20 mil, but they get paid enough where they can do what they want, and spend how they wanna spend. They not gonna lose for that dirty ass money with all this attention, the winner of this fight will be HUGE. Everyone in the world will wanna know who wins!
