I honestly don't think he'll beat any of those 3 if he gets past Trout and Canelo..I don't want to see him retire, but I really don't wanna see him take another L in a brutal fashion like the Pacquiao or Margarito fight, although it could happen against Canelo..he just hasn't convinced me yet..

    what do you guys think?..

I think beating Trout then Canelo would solidify his HOF status once and for all to leave no doubt about it and he could ride off in the sunset with that, and call it a great career..
LOL NY or no fight. Vegas is where the majority of major fights here happen. Sucks that Cotto is like 1-3 there in those kind of fights. He just can't handle the big leagues. Only reason he has that win is cause of Mayorga

But honestly, after Trout...go big and get Sergio @ 160. I think he can win. Its a long shot but I think he can do it

If I was Cotto, I wouldn't fight Canelo. The cards are stacked against him. They'll want it in Las Vegas, promoted by Golden Boy, and its their Golden Child. Fight Canelo in NY or no fight
Manny wouldn't go up to '54 and I doubt Cotto wants to do '50 maybe if they agreed at '52 or so..but I don't see Manny wanting Cotto that heavy..at 145 Cotto busted dudes ear drum and Manny said he'd been buzzed bad but played it off like it didn't hurt..at anything above 150lbs Cotto hurts Manny..Freddie and Manny knows that..

Martinez-Cotto would be interesting at 154..but at 160lbs Cotto gets hurt bad!..

If he won both I don't think he should retire on that, he would essentially be at the peak of his star power. As long as he is healthy he should cash in on that.

I think beating Canelo would be a very tough task for Cotto, I think it would be a heck of a fight but not one fought at a crazy break neck pace which is really the pace both guys prefer. I wouldn't count out Cotto but the bigger man Canelo should be able to handle the damage the smaller man is dealing better plus his blows should be more impactful.

Real about getting too carried away. Sure Trout may be low tier at 154 but you never know in boxing.

His nuthuggers are morons and probably worse than Floyd's.

It's funny how you people make it seem like Pac is scared or something. Dude already climbed over 6 divisions. That's a rare feat itself. Top it off Cotto wanted catch weight @ 150 with Margarito and you guys approved. But Pac does it, it's a ***** move on Pac's part considering Cotto wanted a fight at that weight. Flip Flopping nuthuggers.

Good point..he would be at the peak of stardom..even this late in his career..

My other concern would be his stamina..I'm curious to see how Big Bear is gonna affect him..I'm really looking forward to seeing his activity in the championship rounds against Trout...that's where it went wrong against Mayweather..I believe he could've brought it much closer had he stolen the last 2 or 3 rounds of that bout.

JMM is either going to win this fourth fight or lose in controversial fashion. Pac's stock is going to be lower than ever. He's slowing down and isn't the hurricane that he was in 06-09'. What are his options? Another Bradley fight that'll be ugly? Mayweather, which seems more unlikely, especially if JMM shows him up again? Or Cotto, fan friendly fight, with some backstory. JMM V? Pac's options are just tiny man.

I don't want Cotto/Martinez @ 154 because while Cotto's chances are better. Martinez hasn't fought there in years and he's +35. Its like Oscar going back to a weight he hadn't fought in 7 years. Martinez hasn't been there in what...four years at that point? Fight him at 160 or no fight. Go big or go home. @154, its just a title defense against a guy coming down in weight (remember Dawson?). @160 its the lineal MW championship, that has a pretty rich and largely untouched lineage. Go for that shit!
