I think he should stop fightin....u know what happens to heavyweights, as the fight goes to later rounds, they just catch punches on their heads, that's just how tired they get...if that happens agian, Mesi will suffer a major brain damage. he better find a job somewhere else...
You clearly didn't read my post:
"there is absolutely no evidence of any increased risk"
So should we just disban the heavyweight division because it is too dangerous?
That is the opinion of one doctor, it doesn't necessarily mean he/she is right.
Your in no position to question his expertise. Mesi has a right to make a living, and if the doctors determine he is at no greater risk than anybody else than he shouldn't be discriminated against. That is all there is to it.
I dont see the big deal in letting him fight. Its his life let the man fight at his own free will. He will get ktfo'd the first time he fights a legit top 10 fighter anyway. Let the man cash out!

The thing is, doctors can be bought just like any other profession. Ask any personal injury lawyer.
If the NSAC tests him and decides he's allowed to fight, so be it. He's not anything special, but he's entertaining to watch.
Mesi is one of my favorite current fighters. I was really worried and I'm glad to know he's allright now... I didn't see his bit on ESPN but I'll admit I'm not sure I believe it myself... I hope he knows what he's doing
I agree that it is his life and he should be able to do what he wants with it! If he dies in the ring it is his choice! He could die getting out of the shower tomorrow or bungie jumping on vacation! It's his choice to make!

I'm not specifically questioning this doctor in particular - I know nothing about him/her. But I've taught and come into contact with a lot of doctors. The public seems to have this conception that all doctors are supreme beings and are never wrong. This isn't the case. And there ARE shoddy doctors out there (not saying this one is, just that you shouldn't always believe what a doctor says simply because they are a doctor).
Anyway, team Mesi will get a fair chance to present their evidence, and if it's correct they (should) get a fair outcome. I was making the point that you can't prove YOUR point just because one doctor said there was no increased risk, or whatever it was he said.
If you are Joe Mesi's manager, do you put him in for a few $100,000 fights for him to get his bearings back or do you just feed him to Klitscko right away for the one big payday.
Have him face the winner of McCline, Lyockovich and if he loses the have him take a step down a fight a few Phil Jacksons and give him another chance. If he wins let him fight for a title, he brings a great interest to the sport.
If MAB can fight, Mesi should be able to fight as well.
