Who do you rank higher? Wlad Klitschko or Larry Holmes?

Holmes. Wlad might have just as good a jab, and has a better right hand, but Holmes had more balls by leaps and bounds and better recuperative power. The way he savaged Shavers and Snipes off the floor was nasty. He handled tough development assignments like Williams and Shavers the first time where Wlad had to lose to Purrity first. He also had a better all around game. Great counter puncher (something Wald has never really learned how to do) and underrated brawler.

Generally, he beat better fighters too. Witherspoon was close (some had Tim winning) but that's not bad. Witherspoon is probably better than anyone Wlad has ever been in the ring with. It took until 38-years old for him to get stopped, and that was against a beastly young Tyson. I think Wlad has become a great fighter in his own right, but Holmes was just another level prime for prime.

That said, a fight between them could have been interesting.

Holmes coming back to beat Mercer, holding his own with Evander for the first half of their fight (he almost rope-a-doped him), and nearly offing McCall told you how good he was younger for those who still doubted it.
