But yea it looks like he will get stripped because there is probably more money in the Mundine fight in Austrailia, where as if they waited the fight between Geale and Golovkin would be more likely. Very short sighted, IMO.
Seriously man wtf. He just got his belt but gets no voluntary defenses? Garbage...

When are these boxers gonna stop paying sanctioning fees for these fake ass belts? Disgusting...

When is the last time Chris John actually defended his belt against anybody worth a damn? Did they force him to fight Celestino Caballero? Or Barros? Or Gamboa? And he has had that belt for God knows how long. You can say what you want about the other sanctioning bodies, but the WBA is the absolute worst of them all. They not only have a Super Champion and a "regular" champion, but sometimes they have 2 Super Champions at the same time.

Yeah but Geale/Mundine II is going to be a very lucrative fight. I'm surprised the WBA doesn't want a piece of this. Maybe they think Mundine has a good shot so they'd rather give the belt to GGG who is on his way to a big payday on HBO soon. Who knows what these crooks are up to.

The funny thing about it is they are trying to force a good fight for once but, what they are actually doing is making that fight less likely because Geale is going to fight Mundine that is the better option risk/reward wise and after the WBA jobs Geale is he really going to want to care about fighting their champion again especially a tough guy that brings little to the table money wise.

It could still happen down the road but I don't believe this move helps the process.

why cant Golovkin get some step aside money have a fight in the mean time and face the winner next its just good buisness and its not really asking much i mean hes still a world champion if he wins hes just gonna be the suoer champ then they will have someone else be regular champ

Mundine is only part of the IBF rankings, not the WBA. Guess that explains why IBF hasn't objected. I hate when promoters/networks/managers/ABC bodies try to force a fighter's hand. Sit down with the fighter's team and work this shit out instead of stripping them arbitrarily. It just makes the sport look bad when fighters lose their titles outside of the ring. This is why so many fans say that titles are meaningless.

I would like to see Geale vs GGG but I feel like he's not been given enough time and he needs to avenge his only loss first. I think the fight should happen next summer. Put GGG in with Murray cuz he claims no one will fight him.
