If people were willing to break into your brother's resturant to steal vegetables and cuts of meat, what's going to happen when they found out he's died and left Kronk behind?
I suppose keeping the equipment in the gym and hiring 24/7 security is a more logical option.
except the gym is/was still fully operational...or did you think it just closed down whenever Steward left town?
she might have a good reason. When the original Kronk closed in 2006 or whatever, I thouht I heard on the local news that people were breaking in and stealing the copper piping. This is Detroit, my buddy one had someone drive a fork lift through the side of his Mustang and steal it down there
I think a lot of it is going to depend upon guys like Wlad, Lee, Banks etc. if those guys decide to go elsewhere then I think the gym will struggle. I don't know what went on behind the scenes but I'm guessing Manny put money into the place each year to keep it going.
Hearns was a great fighter, but I think that Steward's assistant trainers are probably best served to continue his work, assuming they want to.
I hope Hearns gets to run the place. I think he would do great
same here. And I'd really like to see the boxing elite step up and chip in and make this happen. Golden Boy, Mayweather, Top Rank, etc., chip in some money, save the gym, give Hearns a full time job and maybe, just maybe Kronk gym can go back to producing great fighters again. God I'd love to see the yellow and black again and Detroit being on the map again as far as great fighters.

Yeah it used to be subsidized by the city but the city is broke. Anyone wanting to save the gym has to get past the idea of it being profitable, it wont be in detroit thats for sure. The majority of the gyms back in the day were subsidized by the city or the police department.
So now its a game of who wants to put money into it knowing they wont get it back? See if anyone will step up. All of the money that the big names have made from boxing lets see if they will be willing to give back. It wont be glamorous like donating to breast cancer, the general public wont care only boxing fans and kids in detroit.
