Tyson just came out of prison and he wasn't ready for Lewis yet and Lewis was coming off a KO loss to McCall.

It is known that Don King didn't think Tyson could beat him but Tyson himself never showed any fear or lack of confidence, even when he was completely shot and on drugs in 2002 when they did fight. Even Lewis said that Tyson was a "has been" at that time.

TKO6 no need for a rematch. lewis barely trained since he thought he was about to mop the floor with kirk johnson then johnson pulled out 2 weeks b4 fight with torn pec. vitali got a gift & his face couldn't take lewis' punch. at least lennox beat him while vitali justs barks at haye & says he will knock him out & fights charr instead. haye is scaring vitali into retirement...at least lennox fought & beat him. while vitali is all talk...vitali's fan boys live off what ifs while the only facts we have is lennox TKO 6...

These fighters all ducked Lewis. For whatever reasons, who knows. But they all ducked him at some point of their career when they could have chased him.

Disgrace. Threw belts into trash can to avoid a trashing. Lewis landed a upper cut combination on him in the Olympics and he never wanted to taste Lennox's power again.

Not quite as disgraceful, but pretty embarrassing. Gave Lewis 4 million dollars rather than fight him.

Ironically because Mike ended up broke in the early 2000's, he had to fight Lennox anyways and received the beating he should have received 6 years ago.
