Maybe padding that resume with lots of bums, which translates to gaining experience and confidence is actually good for some boxers. I know guys like Ward, Dirrell, Rigondeaux don't need that. But depending on your style, it could be useful. Like Canelo, Chavez Jr, and the Argentines I mentioned.
This is why I chose Saldivia against Brook last week, and why I'm picking Bolonti against Bellew. I was wrong in Saldivia's case, but you just never know. Argentina is making their presence known.

Puerto Rico fighters usually have chin issues. JuanMa Lopez has chin issues. Before the monster beatdowns doled out by the plaster cheat and the PED cheat, Miguel Cotto had chin issues (there's a video of Cotto doing the 'chicken dance' on youtube). This kid Dulorme was way too green and he also falls into the chinny PR category. No disrespect to the fighters from PR. I'm just calling it how I see it.

And by careful matchmaking i do not mean keep feeding them easy fights, but a gradual process so they can actually learn something on the fly.
What the hell is training, sparring and videos for? Top it off amateur experience with some of them.

This day and age people don't want to fight another cause of the style.

The problem is TOO many people are wined, dined, and seduced by unbeaten records and make them the favorite and overestimate them.

There is a lot of excuses being thrown around right now..Before tonight all I heard was how Dulorme was going to beat the hell out of Abregu...Dude is just not that good,he is young and can get better(I would hope)...He was getting hit with the same combo all night...Good fight, and good luck to both fighters going forward...

I think Abregu should stay away from Bradley,no need to get embarrassed again...

People call it padding records, but really what a good promoter is doing is gaining experience for his fighter.
Guys like Ward, Dirrell, Rigo, Cotto, Mares, Berto, DLH, Dulorme, don't really need to pad their pro records too much before they step up in competition because they usually have 100+ amateur fights under their belt. To them 20 or so pro fights is enough for them to step up their competition.

I am not sure about the Argetines, but I know most Mexican pros have little to no amateur fights. They need 40+ pro fights just to learn their craft before they're ready to step up in competition. If you don't you end up like Margarito and Salcido, who took a lot of losses early in their careers because they simply were not ready. Or a guy like Vasquez Jr of Puerto Rico. A kid with a lot of heart, a lot of work ethic and potential, but a kid who was mismanaged and thrown to the wolves way too early (he had 0 amateur fights), and a guy who will never have the career he could have had if he'd had more pro fights and gained more experience before fighting Arce or Donaire.

Corley hurts Cotto and makes his legs go stiff near the beginning of the 3rd round.

Torres wobbles Cotto in the beginning of the 2nd round
