USA Boxing has been suspended three months by AIBA for failure to remove Hal Adonis from their board following his controversial statements and actions earlier this year.

USA Boxing just received notification from AIBA, the international federation for boxing, that all amateur boxing activities in the United States are immediately suspended. The suspension cancels all sanctioned competitions; coach and official clinics; boxing club activities; membership registrations; and insurance coverage.
"By failing to remove Mr. Adonis from the USA Boxing Board of Directors when it had the chance to do so, USA Boxing, in essence, endorsed Mr. Adonis’ statements and sent out a message that such behavior was acceptable. The action (or lack thereof) and the very serious and harmful nature of Mr. Adonis statements, has jeopardized boxing and the Panel finds it appropriate to impose a suspension upon USA Boxing. This suspension must reflect the severity of the offence."

This is BS and should'nt be allowed. Why can't you speak the truth at all anymore? This is more example of the Gay Agenda that is being pushed on us.

His statements were inappropriate but dubious and not that severe, the decision is an attack against freedom of speech in my humble opinion.

seems like a pretty ****** thing to say to be honest, i presume it was said with negative connotations?... Assuming AIBA have no control over hiring and firing this was probably their only option to punish them. They have a duty to keep the image of their sport clean and statements like this only reinforce the idea that boxing is a backwards sport...

wow, this is absolutely insane. guy makes innocuous ****phobic statement, officials demand he be fired, his employers refuse to fire him, officials close down a whole national sport as a way to pressure them into firing him -- remind me again, who is oppressing who?

why does one individual's words have any bearing on the sport's reputation as a whole? this kind of holistic thinking is ironically the exact mind state that leads to phenomenon like ****phobia, people holding whole communities to account for the actions of individuals within that demographic.
