Well this guy has a high position in the sport, his comments definitely tarnished the reputation of his organization and amateur boxing in general.

I disagree with AIBA's decision though.

That Adonis guy has showed some repulsive behavior earlier this year also in another incident involving a death of a marine boxer.

The fact that USA boxing is holding on to him so dearly tells me that the whole board needs to go. Adonis and those protecting him.

I got the email too. I don't know what is going to happen if all the gyms have to close for three months because they are uninsured. Theres going to be thousands of kids with no place to go.

not to mention a lot of gym's failing to pay their leases / mortgages... i'm sure that some of the gyms will never make it to the end of their three months. and hundreds / thousands of boxers will never come back to the sport.

what a joke amateur boxing has become.

It's funny because most people probably didn't even know he said this, and now it is brought to everyones attention.

It should be brought to everyone's attention. The fact that he said it wasnt that big of an issue, but the fact that he's involved in operations decision making makes for a highly volatile situation and is an insult to the sport. Imagine if the comissioner of the wnba made a similar statement??? its stating the obvious that dont need to be pointed out because its irrelevent. Being gay doesnt make anyone an inferior or superior athlete.

From what I know of the situation I agree with you.

I agree with this. Some gyms are not going to make it.
