It's not too much to ask at all. But Rigo's fans seem to think he doesn't have anything more to prove just because he beat the mighty Rico Ramos and Teon Kennedy.

yes yes donaire todavia le esta evitando a rigo. Se esconde detras de la disculpa de que una pelea contra arce gana mas dinero. De hecho, esta corriendo todo el camino a mexico para pelear a jorge arce en vez de rigo. sad!

Granted rigo has 11 fights and much less pro experience than donaire, but who else are people dying to see? If Rigo is a weak draw, who is bigger? Who will earn him credibility for his legacy? If rigo retired today he would still be one of the most decorated amateur fighters ever in the history of amateurs, he would be known as being great. That may not seem like much, but what is mathebula's legacy? Narvaez legacy? Nishioka outside of japan? For someone who hold a p4p claim, your legacy means a lot. Bottom line rigo adds as much to donaire's legacy as any other fighter named. As well as the fact that these other guys can't even really manufacture a buzz, if hbo wanted to make rigo donaire into a super fight and were willing to put $ into the heavy promotion of this fight, I think they could pull it off because the real boxing community knows it's credible.

andre ward didn't beat anyone before he whooped kessler's ass. Donaire hadn't beat anyone before he whooped vic's ass. I know there is more risk than reward for donaire, but we hold him to a high standard and expect him to take the best fight available. I mean rigo has a belt, has defended his belt in grand fashion, and this community knows he's real. We can say, man if you had only turned pro 3 years earlier this fight would be on but did we not learn anything from lennox and shot tyson? Mayweather Pac man? Waiting for a perfect moment can build hype for a fight, but it can also pit fighters in the twilight of their careers in less than spectacular fights. We know the fight is real now, it will be money in it (maybe not multimillions, but who is donaire making multimillions against) and real boxing fans, the ones who have kept boxing alive to this day are primed for it. Why wait?

            right on the money!!!
now is the time for the fight. i am sure the rigo vs nonito will draw more rating than nonito vs mathebula and nishioka together.

And Andre Ward wasn't respected or a draw until he did so. Then he went on to beat several other big name fighters and now is pretty much universally respected.

                Rigondeaux could do the same.

donaire would crush rigondeaux with relative ease. as soon as rigo feels that left hook power he will be running all night. easy work for donaire. rigo is too small for donaire.

And Ward was considered nothing but a fill in at the time as a result... He shocked the world, sure, but its not like that was the most anticipated fight of the tourney... They just wanted to get it out of the way so Kessler can go on to fight Froch, and Abraham in the finals

Same situation with Vic, beat Nonito and move on to better things...

The Rigo fight has the unfortunate (*used ironically) potential to be a super huge mega fight right up there with Martinez/JCC Jr... All it needs to build up is for Rigo to fight someone comparable to Donaire... He can fight Vazquez Jr and dominate him better than Donaire did... Or fight Mares, or that Poonswat guy...

U people really can't wait 1 more fight? Neither of them are gonna get old over night, they hardly get hit so its not like they have wear and tear on their bodies... And u say "we know its big now"... U don't think Rigo getting a good win over a name opponent will make the fight any bigger?

And btw... Die Hard boxing fans don't keep the sport alive, casuals do... Everyone knows this
