These kind of learning experiences are invaluable for Deontay.
      Larry held his own though.

In the video of the interview, it shows a bit of the sparring, and it show one of Wlad's coaches come into the ring in the middle of sparring to demonstrate a combination. This shows that it was very tactical sparring, and not too heavy.

Also, Wilder says in the interview that he is going to be the main guy in camp for the next couple of weeks. Wilder's people would NOT be sending him to Klitschko's camp if he was going to get the crap beat out of him for 2 weeks, not a young and up and coming prospect.

It's a good sign that he's taking part in the camp, great experience, and the people who somehow assume he's getting beat up don't know what they're talking about.

That is Russ Anber he was David Lemieux's trainer, the guy who stopped it premature against Rubio, i believe he also works with Pascal and some other guys from Canada. He must be there with one of the sparring partners, he has nothing to do with Klychko's team.

OK thanks for clarifying I didn't realise that. The point still remains, it likely wasn't the most intense sparring if that type of thing was going on.

so long as he shows up for the next one this is good news as far as i am concerned.

getting the sh#t beat out of him is what he needs right now. so long as it's not going to take anything out of him this is probably a good thing.

i'd be a lot more impressed if they put him in there (in his pro fights,) with somebody who can go rounds with him, though. just saying..
Ali used to beat up on a young guy named Larry Holmes we all know how that worked out.

Was Holmes 27 years old at that stage and 25-0?

No, he was a baby who had only just begun his pro career.

Holmes gave as good as he got and sometimes even got the best of Ali.

Frazier however, roughed Holmes up real good, though

Wilder is there to help Wladimir train, he's supposed to be a punching bag for a lot of the camp, it's only when they do unrestricted sparring that he'll even be asked to throw any real punches back. He's paid to get hit and take the punches for a lot of the camp.
