I was worried earlier about Burns getting matched with someone like Rees or Murray in December and how poor that would be... this just takes the piss.

Walsh isn't even a lightweight, let alone a contender. He's had 13 fights and was reaching a pivotal point in his career. Has only fought once this year and looked terrible, was fighting on November 30th to remain active and now this fight pops up.

I cannot express how poor this fight is and how frustrated I am at the state of boxing over here, especially concerning Burns' career.

Is Warren promoting a world champion or a laughing stock?

It really undermines everything Burns has done.

I cannot see how this fight benefits either fighter? Both are Warren fighters but they're so far apart in terms of progression and where they're at in their careers.

Why am I not surprised though?

After Burns won the title at SFW, he defended against a 13-1 & 14-4 opponents. Talk about Broner and fighting the other champions and here Ricky Burns is, fighting a 13 - 0 fighter who's fought once in the past 25 months.

Warren needs to take a leaf out of Hearn's book.

            That is a disgraceful fight.

No idea why it was even considered, let alone made.

What a strange fight, does nothing for anyone and is anyone interested in it?

I thought after Mitchell that Burns would maybe start trying to beat the other world beaters and not step back to a domestic fight.

World level v Domestic level....Nice one Frank...infact Frank your days have passed now give up your fighters to other promotors and get shot of boxnation, boxing on Sky could be even better with some of your fighters being matched well and on good cards.

Has to be a joke, Burns has worked his ass off to get in a position to get himself bigger fights against the best and for better money. If I was him I would be pretty pissed at Warren.
