This is what makes me laugh about Lacy fans who seem to think Calzaghe doesn't have a chance just because Lacy is physically bigger and is more built.

Great physiques do not meant great fighters.

Good point. Frank Bruno had one of the best physiques I can ever recall seeing, and he was what, 1-4 in title fights?

Chiseled bodies are not the rule of thumb in boxing-- they're the exception. I think.
The way I see it, there are a few ideal body types for boxing:
for the slim, sort of reedy type, there's the young Ali, SRRobinson, SRLeonard, WBenitez, young JLouis, Hearns, Saddler, Arguello and even perhaps the Professor, Morales, Pac, Pep, Little Red Lopez, etc.
for the squat/squarish type there are Frazier, Tyson, Marciano, the Ragin' Bull, Limon, Navarrete, Rey Mancini, perhaps MAB, etc.
there are those in between, such as, the young Foreman, Holy...
then, there are the types to which Bowe and possibly Lewis belong.... as well as the older Ali and older Foreman...
Impecably sculpted bodies tend to be muscle-bound....
There aren't many in the NBA who have some chances for the Mr. Universe title, either, are there?Last edited by grayfist; 12-26-2005, 08:10 PM.
