to be honest thats not all that good...........

it's obvious that donaire is no where near a draw. i thought it would hit at least a million due to the rios alvarado fight but it seems even those 2 couldn't save the day............

the rigo not being popular thing has now been thrown right out of the door..............

they want donaire to at least do 1 million because they are trying to turn him into a superstar...........but it seems people just don't care..........

maybe the people didn't feel like he was facing a real threat in a unknown nishioka (which turned out to be the case)

MANY people switched the channel as soon as the main event came (this also takes a massive hit to the card).......I watched the 1st round & switched it to mma.

i caught the fight later on the internet...........

Excuse #1: HBO wants to see wars. Blood and guts. Rigo doesn't bring that to the table:

The result: Nishioka refuses to throw punches and boos rain out throughout the stadium

Excuse#2: Rigo is still a relatively unknown

The result: Donaire doesn't have the star power to generate 1 million views even with the help of Rios vs. Alvarado. What would the numbers have been without the undercard?

Make the damn Rigo fight and quit making new excuses.

wasn't broner vs escobedo on hbo bad?

            it did 1.4

donaire just isn't a draw.............& his management must be very frustrated because they have done everything in their power.

Us hardcore fans tend to forget the little guys (122 pounds, etc.) rarely ever get much attention.

Didn't Broner-Escobedo do 1.4 million viewers. Damn, Donaire is never going to be a draw. He's a great fighter, but he couldn't do anymore than 800K even Rios-Alvarado on the undercard.

Donaire swears he's a PPV star the way he talks about Rigo. The truth is half of those numbers were thanks to Alvarado-Rios.
